Dog Lover & Proud Pet Parent

Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

What is Anaplasmosis

I just got this newsletter from Dogs and Ticks.com and the timing was coincidental. Just this week a friend of mine had their dog to the vet and Shiloh was diagnosed with Anaplasmosis. Definitely thought this would be some great information to pass along!

An incredulous judge sentenced a man to three years in prison for tossing a 10-week-old puppy [...]

Dumping of Dogs is Deplorable Cruelty

I found this letter in the Billings Gazette and it just hit home, really hard! The abuses that people inflict upon innocent animals never ceases to stun me and make me angry. It’s bad enough that too many people think that dogs and pets are disposable and dump them off at shelters without [...]

The Truth Hurts – Puppy Mills, A Horror Story

People need to be made aware of the horrible truth behind petstores and many other places that sell those cute little puppies. They come from ‘puppy mills’.

Puppy mills are nothing new. These mass dog-breeding operations have been around for decades, but they continue to be a problem because unsuspecting consumers keep [...]

Thwart Doggie Digging!

This is for any of you dog owners who have prolific backyard diggers!

Now Jezzie and Bruti love to dig and given the chance they would probably dig their way straight to China… LOL. I have a nice large yard surrounded by a 6′ privacy fence with a securely locked gate so my babies are [...]

Great Advice! ‘Tag’ Your Dog!!

Came across a good story with some excellent advice, ‘tag’ your dog! Now this may sound like just plain ole’ common sense but it’s amazing the number of people who don’t, and I have to admit that I am often guilty of this as well. Now my Jezzie and Bruti are ‘house’ dogs [...]

A Pit Bull Mauling to Cheer About

So often we hear horror stories of pit bull bites and maulings and the media plays them up and continues to reinforce the pit bull as a vicious dog. Well, here’s a pit bull bite story that we can applaud.

Not only did Maya, a floppy eared, 4 yr old pit bull, save her owner [...]

What Happens to Your Dog if Something Happens to You?

This is not a subject that dog or pets owners like to think about and unfortunately few do. I know it’s not something that I dwell on. Yes, I have considered it but to be honest I, being pretty typically minded, figure that I am young and will be around for a long [...]

Don’t Forget to Make ‘Dog Time’ Every Day!

Our dogs give us so much, their love, loyalty and life. Shouldn’t we make sure that every day we make sure we give them some quality time that shows our love and loyalty to them?

Are you a ‘mouse potato’? What a great phrase for the modern age! I know that I spend many hours parked [...]
