Starved Dog Dumped in Gutter, Owner Finally Arrested

In February, Queens, NY, neighbors complained of a dog lying in a yard on Witthoff Ave. They didn’t know if the dog was dead or alive but in the freezing temps, they wanted someone to look at the situation.

By the time that ASPCA Special Agent Joann Sandano arrived, the dog was no longer there but neighbors told her they had seen a man carry the dog off. Sandano then witnessed the man dump the dog in the middle of a traffic island in Queens Village and cover it with trash.

The man was identified as 38 year old, Trevor Williams, who has a long criminal history, including convictions for rape and domestic violence.

When a necropsy was performed, the severely emaciated mix-breed adult male dog was found to have died of starvation. Starvation so severe and of such a duration that it had caused stomach ulcers.

“For a pet to be starved to death then dumped in the gutter with trash and meet such an ignominious end is truly a crime and a tragedy,” ASPCA Assistant Director Joseph Pentangelo said.

“I could not feed him,” said Williams.

It took months for the ASPCA to finally track Williams down and he has been arrested. He’s been charged with tampering with evidence and animal cruelty. Unfortunately the animal cruelty charge is only a misdemeanor! What this scum did, as far as I am concerned, is nothing short of torture!

How can someone just leave a dog to starve to death in the freezing cold?? I guess it’s no surprise when Williams already has a long criminal history. After rape and domestic violence, starving a dog to death wouldn’t mean a whole lot.

This is the kind of a person who needs to be locked up… period! Just how useful to society can he be?

Churches on Dogs… Souls… and Heaven

Now if you are not laughing by the time you get to the bottom, you have no sense of humor at all!

It’s a given that different religions disagree with one another on certain subjects but this is one disagreement that took a most amusing turn.

I’ve looked at this a number of times since I got it and still find myself laughing at the end. I just hope they were all having a chuckle too, would be a shame if not…. :)

Diamond - Died after an animal control officer left it in truck Robert Brown’s 2 year old Rottweiler, Diamond, died after being picked up by Clay County Animal Control and left in the truck when the ACO went to a meeting.

The family alleged that Diamond died due to heat stress and filed a complaint against ACO Billy Wilson, the officer in question.

No surprisingly, Clay County conducted an internal investigation and concluded that it “found that neither action nor inaction by Officer Billy Wilson contributed to the death of “Diamond”.”

The Necropsy report is inconclusive regarding a possible cause of Diamond’s death, but does suggest the hypovolemic/distributive shock may have been related to heat stress.

So what does Clay County decide to do to prove themselves innocent of the charge?? They conduct an experiment using another dog of about the same size and subject it to what they think are approximately the same conditions that Diamond was subjected to. One hour locked in a metal box while the temps climbed to almost 90 degrees.
