Dog Lover & Proud Pet Parent

Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Puppy Confined to Closet for Months Dies from Heat – VIDEO

It’s sad enough when someone gets a dog and then confines it to a chain or yard all it’s life but can someone in their right mind possibly tell me why anyone would get a puppy then stick it in a closet to live for 8 or 10 months until it died from the heat?  [...]

Just short of two weeks ago a sad story came out of Kentucky.  The Smith family’s newborn infant, AJ, was taken from his crib by the family dog, a wolf-hybrid or  American Indian dog, Dakota.  The family found the baby, still in Dakota’s mouth, about 20 minutes after she took him, in a wooded area [...]

Babies Can “Read” Dogs from Very Young Age

In yet another quirky study involving dogs, a study from the Brigham Young University shows that infants as young as 6 months old can actually “read” dogs moods and get a handle on their emotions even if they’ve had no previous exposure to dogs.

It always amazes me what we can learn from our canine [...]

From Homeless Stray to the Land of Oz – VIDEO

Five years ago, Clyde was a stray, a homeless dog that was picked up by the Humane Society sitting in a cage, scared and with an uncertain future. Now Clyde is a star, of sorts anyway.  He’s staring as Toto in the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Treater production od “Wizard of Oz” and has taken to [...]

10 Months After Hurricane Ike, A Heartwarming Reunion – VIDEO

Just imagine the heartbreak of your best friend being missing.  When you first find out, your heart stops for a minute and then your pulse races, your frantic and worried.  You race out looking, yelling and calling.  You plaster the area with missing posters and check all the shelters and anywhere else you can think [...]
