My Mission Deanna Raeke Dog Lover & Proud Pet Parent
Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Andrea Rosebrock Andrea has come onboard FTLTD to help out by contributing some stories and following-up with her "Justice Round-Up" series.
For the Love of the Dog is my small effort to do that. Please, won't you help me!

In January, I told you about Azure, a beautiful pitbull that was attacked by her owner’s boyfriend and stabbed 7 times with a sword. Azure’s owner, Erin Lup, also a victim of the violence, took Azure to Alicia Pet Care Center in Mission Viejo where staff did everything necessary to care for the injured puppy. [...]

Far too often dogs that are seized in dog fighting raids have no chance. Usually quickly deemed aggressive, they are euthanized. The family found the baby, still in Dakota’s mouth, about 20 minutes after she took him, in a wooded area [...]

In yet another quirky study involving dogs, a study from the Brigham Young University shows that infants as young as 6 months old can actually “read” dogs moods and get a handle on their emotions even if they’ve had no previous exposure to dogs.
It always amazes me what we can learn from our canine [...]

Five years ago, Clyde was a stray, a homeless dog that was picked up by the Humane Society sitting in a cage, scared and with an uncertain future. Now Clyde is a star, of sorts anyway. He’s staring as Toto in the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Treater production od “Wizard of Oz” and has taken to [...]

Just imagine the heartbreak of your best friend being missing. When you first find out, your heart stops for a minute and then your pulse races, your frantic and worried. You race out looking, yelling and calling. You plaster the area with missing posters and check all the shelters and anywhere else you can think [...]
