Dog Lover & Proud Pet Parent

Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Halloween… Going to the Dogs

Do you dress your pooch up for Halloween?  A lot of people do and most of the time when I look at the pictures the dogs just look humiliated… LOL  But it is funny and amusing.  Here’s just a few that I’ve collected over a couple years.

Mostly dog pix but you’ll find some cats tossed [...]

Carving Your Dog Up…. For Halloween

Carving pumpkins for me has always been basically grabbing a big knife and hacking the hell out of a pumpkin until I get something resembling a rudimentary face… of sorts.  In the past years pumpkin carving has turned into an art form and I have seen some amazing specimens but of course, this being a [...]

Ghosts, Spooks, Spectres, and Things that Go Woof in the Night

It’s Halloween, the spookiest night of the year!  Tonight is the night ghosts and goblins glide past your door looking for treats and handouts.  Better give them some or you’re likely to be the victim of a prank, or worse.

This is the night where the border between this world and the other world becomes transparent [...]

Last week police were called to a house in Canfield, OH after a woman saw three sickly looking dogs running loose in the picturesque neighborhood.  When police arrived, they found Brian Spin, 38, in the yard of the house at 535 Brookpark Drive along with the 3 sick dogs. Further investigation revealed that three [...]

No Justice for Bowser? Dog Brutally Tortured and Killed by Owner!

My friends, you remember Robert Suttles of Somerset, KY, the monster who brutally tortured his dog, Bowser by poisoning him with antifreeze, letting him suffer for days laying in the yard then kicked the dog to death and burned his body?  We all fought so hard, emails, calls, letters, a petition, to have the charges [...]

A Little Good News on the WI Homefront for Dogs

Wisconsin is one of the states that basically has no regulations when it comes to commercial dog breeders and organizations have been fighting for years to keep it that way.  This year a puppy mill bill is working it way through.  The bill, AB-250, provides for licensure for anyone or any kennel that sells 25 [...]

Dumping Dogs, “I’m Sorry” Just Doesn’t Cut It for Them! VIDEO

Sadly too many people don’t realize what it really takes to be a responsible dog and pet owners and when they find out they seldom think twice abut dumping the dog for one reason or another and the reason are endless but the result is the same.  The dog, that should have been a beloved [...]

Dogs Not Even Safe in Own Homes & Yards from Being Shot by Cops – VIDEO

It’s bad enough when cops shoot dogs at large that are running in neighborhoods but when cops go on someone’s property, in their yard or even in their home and shoot their dogs, that is really going overboard if you ask me.  Dogs are territorial and protective animals so it’s completely natural for them to [...]

Two Missing Dogs Found Shot to Death, Reward Offered – VIDEO

In Chester County, PA, two dogs disappeared over the weekend; Luna and Emma, young German short-haired pointer mixes disappeared from their home in Pocopson Township. Sadly they were found, shot to death and placed tail to tail next to the railroad tracks in Pennsbury Township a few miles from their home.
