heyy my name is amber and i am 15 about 11 years ago my mom and dad got a puppy and it was a half pitt bull half rottriler the two most dangrous dogs they say. her name was shadow and she was the sweetest dog every wen she got older and i was stilla baby i sat on her back slept beside her and wen she had puppys she wasnt defencive she trusted us.. and you story made me really upset for the fact that dasiy was a puppy and all puppys jump on people to say hello. thats what they doo. the court is being very judgemental because of the pitt bull atactks which happen because how the dog was treated not cause it is its nature. any dog who has been mistreated can turn on people. IS DASIY THE REAL CRIMNAL OR IS IT THE PEOPLE WHO GIVE PIT BULLS THAT NAME OF BEING A THREAT! Everyone and every animal deserives a chance to love and be loved why cant people see that. im really sorry to hear about dasiy and i hope everything works out!

Chris, things are progressing very slowly with this case. The original thought was to try to get Daisy to a Rescue then into the US but that wasn’t feasible for a number of legal reason.

What I understand at this point is that her being a ‘pit bull’ was dropped at the last hearing so that is not a threat anymore. That’s a big positive!!

Now what they are up against is the ‘attack’ which was actually just Daisy jumping up on a woman who was greeting her. Unfortunately the woman fell and broke her hip. The next hearing is scheduled for November I believe. Daisy is still being held in the shelter but has completely won over the hearts of everyone there so I am sure she gets attention and I believe that Tammy visits her as often as possible.

This is terrible, I am so sorry for your pain. Has anyone attempted to contact the woman who was knocked down to see if that is the way *she sees it*? Perhaps she realizes that it was not an *attack* and it is her family members that is pursuing this ? Just a thought!

Tammy, the city you live in is being run by coldhearted idiots who don’t give a crap about fixing the REAL problem. It’s not a “Pit Bull” problem, or a breed problem, it’s a PEOPLE problem. Seems like the lawmakers there are saying, “Let’s blame the dogs, and forget about the bad, cruel and ignorant owners who really create the problems.” You’re getting put through all this emotional trauma because of stupid narrow-minded morons.

If I were to go outside right now, grab the first dog I see on the street and light it on fire I bet you I won’t be put through anywhere near as much as you have for having a service dog of the “wrong” breed.

This is a BIG crock of shit. Were I in your shoes I would seriously consider moving away from that horrible place. Why should you support this city with your tax dollars when they’ve singled you and your dog out like this? They’ve made it a law that says a police officer can barge right in on your property and confiscate your dog just because it looks like a Pit? And you have no rights at all? They can take a family pet that has never hurt a soul and let it be sold to a “research” torture chamber, and the owner has no recourse, no way to get his/her dog back?

Does anyone else think that sounds more like Nazi Germany than an “enlightened” free North American country?

Chris,
To be honest I am not sure why Daisy wasn’t fixed, possibly due to a financial situation that I am unaware of. I don’t know all the facts. I do know that Tammy is not well and fights it everyday and that she takes wonderful care of Daisy. Daisy is listed as a bulldog/lab mix on all her papers and is only 8 months old. She has been in training for months now.

Unfortunately hindsight is 20/20 and I am sure if Tammy could go back Daisy would have been altered but right now we are not trying to condemn, she hurts enough. We are trying to find ways to help her.
