What about ethical breeders? What about the humane society? then you say: "why don't you just sell things?" BECAUSE puppies are NOT "things"!!!! ALL pet shops get their puppies from pupply-mills (google that). Why? Because no ethical person would allow a puppy to go through the pet-store experience and ethical breeders want/need to know EXACTLY who has their puppies and if they are well. Some countries don't allow shops to sell live animals AT ALL. This has done wonders to combat puppy-mills and all people who think animals are "things". I hope they outlaw it in America soon. It will even help reduce the stray dog populatiion (the pet stores will sell to just "anybody", the breeders are more careful, because they CARE about the dogs). In the meantime: NEVER buy a pup from a store, as much as it may hurt. If you REALLY want to help a pup, go visit your local shelter. “Where else can we get dogs from?”
