Thousands of people and hundreds of dogs turned out yesterday in Del Mar for the 4th annual Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon. It’s hard to tell who was having the most fun, the pooches or people and on top of all the fun, it was all for a great cause; to benefit the Helen Woodward Animal Center. And for those pooches that weren’t into the waves, there was also a costume contest.
Last year the event raised about $47k for the Helen Woodward Animal Center and hope to have done even better this year. What great fun and a great cause!! ![]()

Those fur babies look like they had one hell of a good time! I love the way they were gliding into each other in the water. I love the way they are romping and running in the water!
And look at all the fun they are having for such a great cause!
I just thought this was so dang cute!! Something to get the week started out with a smile on top of everything else…

Love knowing when someone is helping the animals in the world, while haveing a terrific time doing it!
This is awesome! I sent the link to this page to our local Humane Society to see if perhaps they could do something like this in our area, since we’re right here on the coast. What a GREAT way to raise money, awareness and increase adoptions!
