Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Dog-Pennies from Heaven

SydneyI found a penny today
Just laying on the ground,
But it’s not just a penny
This little coin I’ve found.

Found pennies come from heaven
That’s what my Grandpa told me,
He said, “Dog-Angels toss them down.”
Oh, how I loved that story.

He said, “When a Dog-Angel misses you
He tosses a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up
To make a smile out of your frown.”

So don’t pass by that penny
When you’re feeling blue,
It may be a penny from heaven
That your dog has tossed to you.

A friend shared this with me and I wanted to share it with you. He recently lost one of his beloved rescue babies, Lady Gray, and said that since she went to Rainbow Bridge, he’s found pennies almost every day. What a touching and heartwarming thought. Makes you think of those found pennies in a while different light, doesn’t it? :)

Oh, another beautiful little poem to go on my wall. How touching, and boy, that one brought tears to my eyes.

When I find a penny on the street now, I can look up at the sky and say “thank you babies”.

That is so touching…it made me cry. I find pennies all the time and pick them up – now I can think about one of the dogs I’ve written letters in support of for some of these horrible cases I read about. Hope those dogs are happy now and watching us trying to help them and others in the same situation :)

Me too. Brought tears to my eyes as well. This will make picking up pennies so much more precious. Thank you D. I will cherish this one.
