My dogs live here, they’re here to stay.
You don’t like pets? Be on your way.
They share my home, my food, my space.
This is their home, this is their place.
You will find dog hair on the floor,
They will alert you’re at the door.
They may request a little pat,
A simple ‘NO’ will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say,
‘Just how is it you live this way?
They smell, they shed, they’re in the way.’
WHO ASKED YOU? is all I can say.
They love me more than anyone.
My voice is like the rising sun,
They merely have to hear me say,
‘C’mon, time to go and play.’
Then tails wag and faces grin,
They bounce and hop and make a din.
They never say, ‘No time for you,’
They’re always there, to GO and DO.
And if I’m sad, they’re by my side.
And if I’m mad, they circle wide.
And if I laugh, they laugh with me.
They understand, they always see.
So, once again, I say to you,’Come visit me,
but know this too…
My dogs live here, they’re here to stay.
You don’t like pets? Be on your way.
They share my home, my food, my space.
This is their home, this is their place.
This is the way it is in my home and always will be! So how is it at your home? Are your pets part of your family and anyone who visits has to deal with it or leave, or do you tuck them out of the way?
I know there’s some funny stories out there, do you have one to share?

Yup. Cat hair. Dog hair. Kitties claws on the sofa. Doggie steals the pot holders. Kitties skimper skamper up and down the stairs. Dog boom boom booms after them. Kitties steal the dog food. Dog steals the cat food. Kitties smack him upside the head. Dog snorts in their faces.
Nobody visits us.
But the best part is at 4am. You find them all curled up with us in the bed together.
We need a bigger bed.
Well while I don't like birds in cages, I rescued 3. Actually diff. vets gave them to me when they were asked to put them down. Same with my 2 scruffy dogs and my cat. The cat hides behind things when she hears the dogs padding down the passage and flies out when they're near. It is a game already and each time this happens everything goes flying. Also one of my dogs is fed fruit by one of the parrots so at meal times parks in just the right spot. Probably turn vegan soon like me. Nothing is nicer than when all the birds are covered for the night and I climb into bed with both dogs and cat. It's always a perfect ending to any day.
