Now I lay me down to sleep,
The king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove
My human being can hardly move!
I’ve trapped her legs, she’s tucked in tight
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and “I want food!”
I sneak up slowly to begin
my nibbles on my human’s chin.
She wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth-
I’m a puppy, don’t you see?
For the morning’s here
and it’s time to play
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs and holds me tight
And shares her bed with me at night!

This has to be the most adorable poem I have read in a long time!
i love it – thanks
I love the poem. We have 3 bed pals too. We have a king size bed and a 112 lb big boned Germ Shep, a 70 lb Germ Shep and a 71lb mixed breed puppy. The 2 Shepherds sleep all the time on the bed. Our puppy doesn’t all the time. Just mostly in the early morning about an hour before we get up.He jumps on the bed and turns his belly up and wants me to rub it. Then he falls asleep until we get up.The smaller Shep lays in back of my 3 pillows against the headboard. The big Shep lays in the middle of the bed. Thats our bed buddies.
this brought such a smile 2 my face, thank u. i usually sleep with 2 dogs, max~rat terrier n ginger~chihuahua…she burrows under the covers. there’s usually a load of cats as well. u know what? i wouldn’t have it any other way
