I can relate to how dogs bring down the cost of health care! My 90 lb baby laid next to my bed for hours everyday for 4 weeks while I was on bedrest. I know shes why I got better so quick, she was my "caretaker"

I can definately relate to the article. I have not only had my house remodeled, but my car as well. One of my dogs ate the drivers seat one New Years day as I was making a quick stop at a friends. But the article missed one of the biggest money savers. The health benefits we receive - and I am not talking about the exercise. As I am getting older the doctors continue to be impressed with how low my blood pressure is. I am sure my furry friends play a big part in that. They are also great at making sure I take a break from the computer every now and then to scratch them behind the ears. Considering the continually rising cost of health care, I am convinced this is a big financial savings. :)

@AIR - Andrea, that's pretty funny!! Around here the rule is, if it's on the floor, that is the dog's territory and only the fault of the person who left it there. We now make sure all important papers are 'tucked' away just in case. Too easy for stuff to 'fall' on the floor... LOL

True incident somewhat like the Identity Theft Protection.

Last year our boy ATE one of my master card bills. I could still read the amount owed but the statement was torn, chewed on, slobbered on...a complete mess. I paid it and stuffed the statement in the envelope with a note.

"Sorry, but the dog ate it."

The following month I needed to call them on an issue. When the rep pulled up my account he burst out laughing. Apparently, the company got a big laugh out of the dog slobbered remittance.

I am now a preferred customer.
