I must say one thing. There are millions of people out there that have had a lot of bad stuff done to them, grew up poor etc., etc., etc. But they still have compassion for living things. and for someone to do this kind of stuff there are no excuses. How he grew up, and what happen to him don’t cut it. We all have our crosses to bear. So yes there will be no sympathy fo anyone that would do harm to the trusting hearts of our animals. And thats everyone irreguardless if where you might hail from!

My Bruti of also afraid of the fireworks and either hides in the cubby under my desk if I’m in my office or on my lap… LOL I give him a mild sedative to help him out and it make a big difference. Funny, he’s not bothered in the least by thunderstorms and neither both Jezz. We do the windows, AC and music or TV too. Ah, the lengths we go to for our babies!

You might be surprised at how many dogs are as terrified by fireworks as they are thunderstorms. I ask each of you who has or knows of a dog in such circumstances, to visit your vet and get appropriate medication to treat these anxieties. I do not believe in medicating animals for every little thing, but this type of anxiety kills. Respiratory distress like asthma, heart failure or heart attack, injuring themselves trying to escape the source.. the list goes on. If it is a mild anxiety, 25 mg of Benadryl will help a lot — (usually dosed at 25 mg per 30 lbs od dog) but severe anxiety may require Xanax (which is the preferred med) or Valium. Don’t let your dog be scared.. to death.

My mother’s dog is absolutely terrified of fireworks. It’s so bad I think someone must have thrown fireworks at him when he was a puppy (he was 18 months old when we got him as a rescue). We deal with it by closing all the windows, putting on the air conditioning, and turning the sound up on the TV. He would still anxious but at least he would not be freaking out and trying to squeeze his 70-lb frame under my bed.

What an idiot. Same goes for the people who gave him a standing ovation, especially the dimwit who praised him for “protecting our children.” I certainly hope they are not representative of the people of Kansas, otherwise that state is in big trouble. The way the mayor came in with guns blazing, it’s a miracle no people were hit. What he did to the dogs was cruel and inexcusable, as well as indicative of incredibly poor judgment; he should go to jail.

Hello Jamie, you are an angel!! Thank you…thank you so very much for just being who you are. If the world were full of people like you, not one innocent precious animal would suffer. I honor you for what you did for Gabby. It is appauling that this kind of stuff goes on in a place called a “dog shelter”, “humane society” or any other facility that houses so many precious angels. Needless euthanasia…somehow this needs to be stopped all together.

I have six dogs and one cat, and if I could have more I would. I’ve been blessed to have many “all rescued” pets in my life. I am also dedicated to the well-being of these precious gifts we are blessed with.

Animals do not have a voice…we all need to join together and stop the insanity of the ill treatment of animals. Again, thank you Jamie…with all my heart I wish you as many blessings that may be bestowed on one person. Big hugs to you…friend. Animal lover forever, Carole.

I don’t know the owner but perhaps these two vermin had them fooled. Oh, I’ll bet that most if not all have seen these kind of weinies before, you know the kind that sugar wouldn’t melt in their mouth and are so all over that little puppy, like isn’t he cute etc., etc., etc. You all know what I mean. So unless someone knows any different. I say lets give this pups owner some slack. They could be beating themselves up for not seeing these douch bags for what they really areas we speak.
