Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Update on Grayson Puppy Mill

Puppies from Grayson puppy millEarlier this month, Loretta Parsons of Grayson County, Virginia, was arrested and charged with 24 counts of animal cruelty, 16 counts of no tags, and 16 counts of no vaccinations. This having to do with the atrocious conditions under which she ran her puppy mills.

On November 9th, officials seized 24 Boston Terriers and Pugs and 8 puppies. Veterinarian Donald Fincher who examined the dogs said that they were living in “horrible shelter conditions.”

Since then, new charges have been levied against Loretta Parson. Already facing 56Grayson puppy mill charges, she will now be facing an additional 8 more animal cruelty charges after three of the puppies removed have died. Each is a class one misdemeanor that carries up to a year in jail.

The Veterinarian overseeing the case tells us the three puppies who died suffered from “severe malnutrition” and some of the pot bellied puppies were filled with parasites inside them.

  • That should be a felony and she should go to prison. Ugh.

They should stick her in a cage outside for a year and feed her once a week. Im serious, sort of. I dont understand how people cannot be held more accountable for their actions.

Humans are the worst of breeds. We’re savage & cruel yet we have the arrogance to believe that we are superior to all other living creatures. Unfortunately education, community service, fines don’t work. I believe in an eye for an eye – Jason, you’re making perfect sense. Maybe we’ll then think before we act.
