Another “not nice” Banfield experience: A friend pre-paid $320 for a pet insurance contract, used $46. & then had to move out of state. She gave me the pup & all the paperwork. I called to inquire about neutering & they said the contract wasn’t transferable. With all the pet overpopulation, crowded shelters, etc. you’d think this would be high on Banfield’s list. They didn’t even say what it would cost if I wanted them to do it, didn’t say sorry, just “it’s not transferable” & hung up on me. Would never recommend them to anyone.

Yeah I heard Banfield was bad. I have pet insurance which includes a wellness package through VPI pet insurance. I have only paid for three months coverage so far but have been reimbursed for roughly $125 in vet bills. So, I am super happy. I also have been impressed with their customer service and the promptness of the reimbursement check.

Thanks AIR! I hope people take the time to do this more often. Places like ConsumerAffairs.com and RipOffReport.com and of course the BBB (Better business Bureau) can really tell a person a lot when it comes to a business – who to do business with and who not to!

Just go to consumeraffairs.com, search for Banfield, and read all the complaints. It was very shocking.
