Poison or Toxic to Our Pets – Wild Mushrooms – VIDEO

There are so many things that can be dangerous, poison or toxic to our dogs and pets and here’s another one to add to your list, wild mushrooms. Now, I’m not an outdoorsy type person and couldn’t tell a safe mushroom from a toxic mushroom and if you’re anything like me, the best thing to do is keep you pooch away from any and all wild mushrooms.  The wrong kind can not only make them sick, it can kill them!  Here’s a little more on wild mushrooms, for your pet’s sake and safety.

D, I am like you, not knowing which mushroom is safe in the outdoors. As much as I love the outdoors, if I see wild mushrooms growing in our path, I stomp them out, just so the boys would not go near them. Like you, I would rather be safe than sorry.

Now, wild raspberries….that is another story!

Ohhh, yummy! Wild raspberries, I’m with you.. and blackberries and blueberries… love those!! I used to have strawberries growing at another house I lived and and Jessie would actually sneak over and eat them right off the vines… LOL She was smart too, only grabbed the biggest, reddest, plumpest ones!

Well, as most of you know, I AM the outdoors type…..very much so. However, don’t know one mushroom from another. Sage has NEVER even attemted to test these morsals. Nor has any other dog around here. Have not heard anything re: dogs being poisoned by any type of mushroom. As far as stomping them out Sue, we also have some very rare and indangered speicies of shrooms here, so I prefer to just leave them alone. At least Sage has never seemed the least bit innterested in them.

Aw Jess, and I was hoping you could rescue those of us not “in the know” LOL Actually mine haven’t shown any interest either but I’m still not taking any chances. :)

Jess, in the north woods, I don’t want to take any chances with the boys, although their noses are more interested in deer and wildlife droppings….I will have to find out what kind of mushrooms are up there, and I promise not to stomp them out anymore Jess!!!

I’ll look into it more for you D. It would be an interesting thing to check out. I do have one little piece of info on them, but need to get my fact’s right before relaying it…LOL

That would be great. I keep meaning to but wound up getting sidetracked by a dozen other different things! Good thing for me I have such wonderful friends here who always help and keep me updated. :)
