Summer is a big travel time and as pet owners, we love nothing more than to be able to take our canine companion with us to parks, beaches, visiting, anywhere they are allowed to go. When it comes to traveling with our pets, we really need to think of them as children and keep them and ourselves safe. Far too often I see dogs traveling loose in vehicles, sitting on laps, in the beds of pickup trucks and not only is this dangerous to the dog, it’s also dangerous to those in the vehicle and can be a danger to other drivers as a distraction.
