Oh, someone else already noticed. Hah, @<b>Doni</b>, that's exactly why I was counting -- not morbid curiosity (I hope), really, I wanted the satisfaction of knowing the duckling was okay. I like ducks, so I figured I'd stop and actually post. I enjoyed the photos. If ducks do this sort of thing when presented with high nests ... ouch. Oh hey, there’s 10 babies! In most of those pictures there are 10 baby ducks, not 9. I counted originally because I was afraid that the first one didn't make it after the fall.
