Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

For the Love of the Dog is my small effort to do that. Please, won't you help me!

Thanks Deanna – merry christmas to you and thank you for all you do to try to help these innocent deserving creatures. I pray that 2010 will bring happiness to all the poor dogs who are suffering today, whether they are alone and sad on a chain outside or being abused or neglected in other ways…I wish we could help every single one of them, because it’s so unfair that any dog has to suffer when all they want is to please us and all they ask for is a little affection.

Yes, as Debbie in NY wrote…she echoes my true feelings and well wishes for all of us. Many thanks and never give up the “good fight”. We are their voice and their protector.

  • Deanna this is so incredibly special. Thank you so very much. What a perfect gift! I can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work that you put into this site, educating the public on the horrors inflicted on our special furbabies around the globe. While hard to read/see, it’s so needed. Without it, the world would never know. God bless you for the limitless heart that you demonstrate every single day for our wonderful canine friends/family members. You are an angel in your own right, and the world is a better place because you are in it.

D., that was beautiful, and I cannot wait to try some of those recipes for the boys.

I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, and 2010 bring you all your wishes come true. Thank you for such a wonderful sounding board for all of us. Jezzie and Bruti are such sweeties.

What an amazing and beautiful gift. Dee, you are truly a VERY SPECIAL LADY. Because of you, I rescued two little pups and they are the light of my life. I watch food labels so closely now and don’t feed them anything with by-products in them, including their treats, which are about to overrun the cupboard. I sat here and read your book and you were right, some made me laugh and some made me cry. This book should be on the shelves at the bookstore. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I know many of us that really care for animals would buy it. You do so much and ask so little. I for one and I know the rest of us here are honored to have you as our friend. The time and effort you put into your site is truly a blessing as these things need to be made public. I don’t think a lot of people really knows what happens to our fur babies out there. I know I didn’t really know until I pondered upon your site one day and now I look forward to reading and trying to help with whatever I can, whether it be letters, comments or donations. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do. I have to agree with Bonnie, that you are truly an ANGEL in your own right. I love you and I wish you and your family the Merriest Christmas ever and may the New Year bring more people to you site and wake up more people than ever. We can all do this one person at a time. Again, thank you and God Bless you and your fur babies.

  • MOE

I just posted this on my Face Book. Now I will wait for comments and perhaps wake up some more people.

  • dru

OOPS…..forgot 2 say thank u for this wonderful gift.

  • Susie

I finally got a chance to read some more of the stories. Oh yes, some of them brought me to tears; but then some of the happier stories gave me the hope that things will be different for shelter dogs.

  • Jessie

Wish I could download this D….but upon trying, almost lost my computer again. Looks like something I would love to have in my collection, sorry I can’t download it. Love the cover! AND love the pix of Jezzie and Bruti….too cute!

  • Susie

Jessie, I will print it for you and mail it to you!

  • Susie

Moe, great minds think alike! I will print it today, and get it out in the mail this week. I know Jessie will enjoy it, I certainly did.

  • MOE

Susie, I have it printed in color and will put it in a nice binder. Let me know if you want me to send a copy. I made one for me so I can always treasure it.
