Thank you for being a Friend
Happy Thanksgiving! You have a busy day today. Many of you are visiting family, preparing dinner, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, making your Black Friday shopping list, waiting for the big dinner of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, creamed onions and…mimosas! And if your dog is like mine, he has parked himself in the middle of the kitchen waiting for the turkey to cook.
So, just step back and consider that dog. They are faithful friends, spiritual guides, guardians, therapists, and hard workers. They have no ambition, no self-interest, no desire for vengeance, and no fear. Each one has their own special personality of quirks, moods, likes, and dislikes.
Be thankful for their love. A dog loves you more than he loves himself.
Nothing pleases me more than to take my dog for a walk in the woods on Thanksgiving Day morning and soak in the quiet and the nature around us.
Until he spotted a wild turkey. It was downhill from there.
