Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

200 Rescued Dogs Available for Adoption – VIDEO

Two hundred dogs arrived on Long Island today — rescued from lives of neglect — and will be available for adoption. Look at the love and affection the volunteers are lavishing on these dogs that have probably never known a moment of attention in their lives. These are the lucky ones, they will have a second chance, so many don’t. This is why every state needs to have stronger laws when it comes to commercial breeding. Puppy mills need to end!

Help to get the word out! Let everyone know what they are buying when they buy a puppy from a pet store or off the internet… and what is left behind… :(

All puppy mills do are cause problems , and stop adoptions at a shelter , GET RID OF THEM

I got the email about this from the NSAL, and am so happy that these babies are going to be in safe, loving homes.

I hate puppy mills. I have transported dogs from puppy mills, and these poor babies do not even know what a clean crate is, what the fresh air smells like, the sunshine on their faces, or the touch of a human being. The last dog I transported that was from a puppy mill did not even know what grass under his paws felt like, and was in shock when I put him on the grass. It is so sad, because they are usually not very healthy dogs, and have constant health issues.

The sooner we get rid of these p/m, the more animals will be adopted from our shelters and rescues – just as Terry said.

In most states, there are laws that are being re defined, and everyone should check with their own state laws, and help ban these puppy mills, and ban the stores where these puppies are sold.

Good luck to all you puppies that are going to your furever homes!

I think when people go to a pet store, they should ask to see where these puppies come from, if they are from a puppy mill, then make some waves and let people around know what is going on. Cause a scene and watch people walk out. Then get people to picket the store and not do business. I think they will get the picture real quick. Puppy mills should be banned. I wonder if that is where the new Presidential dog came from. Interesting to know. We know it was a gift, but where did it come from? I am so happy these dogs finally have a chance to get a REAL home and lots of love.

I’m with Moego! That would hit those stores good and hard and would probably either get them to stop selling puppy mill pups or shut them down. Either way, it would be a good thing!

Please NOTE these dogs will ONLY be adopted out in NJ and NY to legal residents of those states. I was told by this organization that folks in other states need to find a local shelter to adopt a dog because they are NOT AVAILABLE TO PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE NY-NJ States. When I asked why I recieved a rather snippy answer and a “canned response” denying my adoption request. I did not submit an adoption request, but a simple question about the dogs. I guess they ASSUME all of us in the Midwest are puppy millers! I am still waiting for a answer to the question I posed to them plus my offer of assistance was ignored. I am not holding my breath — I do not expect any cooperation from these folks as they have shown me their “teeth” in the previous communication. I will bless and release them so as to avoid the “bite.” I guess no good deed goes unpunished.
