Hi to Maya’s owner! I was so pleased to hear such a wonderful story with a pit bull at the heart of it. It would have been fantastic no matter the breed of dog, but with the bad rap that pitties get, it’s extra special to be able to share such a bit of good news of them!

I am so happy things worked out so well for you and that you made it through what could have been a horrifying experience relatively unscathed. Give your beautiful girl a hug for me. She’s a real canine hero!!

I love her and I owe her so much. I cant believe the places our story has reached. People are calling her “The DNA Dog” I am so grateful that she came into my life.

Great story.
As the owner of a 5 year Pit Bull, and having over 16 rescues through my home this past year, Maya is a perfect example of the great dogs found in sheters and rescues across the country

It’s nice to see that others agree with the way I think and feel on this. I think that Maya was very brave and heroic and that her owner owes a great deal to this wonderful and protective dog.

Jeanette, I agree with you that in time she will settle down and if not, a little positive training and socialization will help greatly.

I thought it was wonderful to see a pit bull get some good press for a change and it really… ummm… ticked me off to see people making such negative comments. They just don’t get it!!

The victim should get another one, to insure that the next attacker is shredded to pieces in a combination attack.
That dog deserves a medal! That dog saved that woman from hours of abuse and agony, maybe even saved her life.

This is an absolutely wonderful story !!! Thank Goodness she has this really brave and loving dog. I think Pit Bulls have an unfair reputation…I know for a fact that they are loving and faithful companions.

If this particular dog is hyper now, it is only a matter of time until she gets back to her normal routine. She will remain protective for a while, but once she sees there isn’t a threat, she will be back to her “old” self.

Love the fact that she loves her owner that much…she actually saved her life. That is something to cheer about…not make negative comments about. People have to stop thinking of these dogs incorrectly. Like you said, it’s the owner, not the dog.

Enjoy her and love her…as she does you.
