Anti-Vick Shirt Wearer Denied Entrance to Eagles Game

It’s bad enough that the Philly Eagles signed dog killer, Micheal Vick, to their team but now it seems that they feel they have the right to take away a person’s right to free speech.  Kori Martin, a long time Eagles fan, was disgusted with the signing of Vick but she and her family have been long time Eagle’s fans and supporters, even travelling to away games to support their team.  Kori decided to continue to support the team because the way she looked at it, Vick was only temporary, the team had been a part of her life.

So in showing her support by attending the game, she also wanted to show her disgust at Vick and wore an anti-Vick shirt, nothing outrageous or profane, no bad language, just the truth.

The front said “Losers Fight Pitbulls” with Vick’s name and number crossed out;

Vick Shirt Front

And the back of the shirt listed his crimes;

Vick Shirt Back(This tee came from Pitbull Gear and if you want one of your own, you can get it HERE.  Gotta get me one, love it!!)

When Kori tried to enter the Lincoln Financial Stadium this weekend with her family, a security guard would not allow her to enter wearing the shirt because he said “it is offensive to the players and other people.”

Unbelievable!!! So it’s offensive to show support and be a voice for innocent dogs that were brutally killed but it’s not offensive to sign and promote the person who killed, who is a convicted felon, who the Eagles as well as the HSUS and all the corporate sponsors are holding out as someone to cheer on and applaud. Personally, I find that highly offensive and morally corrupt!

Kori and her family asked the security guard to speak with a manager and the manager backed the security guard, the word had come down from management. Philly police said their hands were tied over the issue. Eventually Kori was allowed to enter after she turned her shirt inside out and once in the stadium she turned is back right side out and no one said anything.

So now Jeffry Lurie and the Eagles’ management team can trample a person’s right to free speech, even when that speech is not in any way vulgar or profane, if it is not what they agree with?

What Can You Do?

I could seriously go into full rant mode on this one but I don’t need to. I’m sure that most everyone knows exactly how I feel about this. Now let’s let our thoughts be known and our voices heard about this!!

Contact the Eagles, contact their sponsors, do not let this issue drop!!

*********************************

The following is a quote from Kori;

I don’t know what to do or who to contact, but I want to make the public aware of how the Eagles management is handling this Vick situation. I am outraged that they would treat their own loyal fans this way. I have stuck by my team through thick and thin, and what happened to me yesterday was a disgrace. The fan base has a right to their opinion, especially on a social issue and as long as the fans are within decency boundaries, they should not be told what they are allowed to wear, say or feel. Not only has Jeffrey Lurie and the Eagles organization supported a dog murderer by signing this convict, now they want to take away my freedom of speech just because I don’t agree with them?

From a very disgusted Eagles fan and dog lover,
Kori M.

Please show your support for Kori who only tried to be a voice for the voiceless and show your support the those innocents that died by a cruel killer’s hand and by the hand of his cohorts, contact the Eagles! Contact their sponsors!!

Oh, and don’t forget, contact Nike who is it reported just signed an endorsement deal with good ole dog killer Michael Vick!

If I lived in Pennsylvania (or close by) it would be great to see the animal rights advocates work together to protest Vick’s presence on the team. Just think how great is would be to get as many people as possible into a home game all wearing the anti-Vick T-shirt? It could be a great fund raiser. Do you know if their are any animal rights advocates picketing outside of the stadium on game day? Or outside of stores that sell Nike products. I am going to have to order me one of those t-shirts.

    • Admin - Deanna

I know they tried to have a rally and people said they were going to show but sadly it was very poorly attended. Lots of lip service, little action. Not sure what, if anything is being planned currently. Will see if I can find anything out.

Hmmmm Sounds like the Eagles are getting a little testy over Vick. I bet they didn’t think the fans would care but I guess they do don’t they.

I’m so sorry for Kori for being treated that way. I personally have never been an Eagles fan. They used to be one of those really good teams though that were tough to beat.

I am going to get me one of those t-shirts too. Spelled out in plain english.!!!!

  • Susie

Now I am not into football at all, don’t understand it, and cannot sit for that long of a time watching anything, but, I sure as hell am going to order one of those t shirts!

Too bad Kori was treated in the fashion she was. I am glad she switched her shirt back the way it should be worn. I guess they do not want any bad publicity on their precious Vick, but I bet if she takes this to the local paper or news station, it will get their attention. Funny thing is, the t shirt told the truth!

  • Terry

The Eagles want to bury this quick , good work Kori .

  • RachelK

As angry as I am over the Eagles’ treatment of this woman (not to mention that they signed a sociopathic killer to begin with), and as GLAD as I am that she turned her shirt right-side-out after entering the arena, I do have to point out that this is NOT a “free speech” issue, because the stadium is private property, not public property. Sorry to take the wind out of your sails, but legally, the do have the right to temper speech within their stadium any way they want…

    • Gypsy

hah, they may feel they tempered it, but this banning of Kori got major attention, now we know that the team will stand up for dog abuse and ban people who are against it, they did themselves a dis-service. again! :)

  • dru

“it is offensive to the players and other people.” hmmm, they didn’t find what vick did offensive? WTGo Kori. i’m SO proud of u.

  • Crystalbast

Way to go Kori. The more I think about what they did you to the angrier I get. Only an organization with a guilty conscious would be afraid to allow a fan to wear an anti-Vick t-shirt. They don’t want to admit publicly that they hired a convicted murderer and that is exactly what Michael Vick is.

  • Crystalbast

I am so mad over the way Kori was treated. This is the message that I emailed the Philadelphia Eagles:

I cannot believe that your organization was afraid to allow Kori Martin, a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, wear an anti Michael Vick t-shirt to a game. The reason – because some people might find it offensive?

I have seen the t-shirt and there is not one inaccurate word on it. Michael Vick IS resposible for the torture of dogs. He also personaly murdered dogs. How or earth can you find the truth offensive? You are only embarrassed because there are people out there that find the hiring of Michael Vick to be highly offensive.

If you are so proud of your actions, why are you so afraid of the truth?

  • Shaaron Kirkwood

I am a Patriots fan and plan to wear an anti-Vick shirt when they play the Eagles

  • Lisa K

    Right on Crystalblast!!!!

  • Sandy

Thats outrageous that she wasnt allowed to wear the shirt to the game! I’m super glad that she still continued to wear the shirt the right way once she got in. I feel bad because she had to go through all this hassel just because she wanted to speak her mind!

  • Jessie

JEEEEZZZZ….this is just going to far. Come on Karma…..do your work! Get that SOB tackled, tripped, car accident, tree, brick wall…I really don’t give a damn out it happens, I just want to see him with a broken neck and spinal column, and sitting in a wheelchair the rest of his miserable, worthless, life in complete misery and pain! Nothing to do, but relflect on his disgusting, cruel past. I watch football, but refuse to watch any game with the Eagles playing, ever again! They make me as sick as Vick does now. Jerks! I’m very proud of Kori standing up for her rights! Will look into the cost of that T-Shirt and if it’s not too much, will certainly purchase one as well….still out of work for the time being….but most assurdly want to proudly wear that shirt….everywhere!!!

    • birds

you saying that just brings you down to his level..wishing that upon someone

      • Susie

Who are you? Can’t you read what the name of this site is? After what that sob Vick did to these beautiful dogs, I wish the same on him.

That is in no way bringing us down to his level. There is no further level to go, that man is a demon from Hell. Upon his death, he will take the road south, cause he sure as hell is not going to Rainbow Bridge.

By the way, do me a favor, and don’t ever talk to Jessie like that again.

    • dru

ooops, Jess….u DID mention pain. this sorry excuse for a human being pisses me off so bad that i see red! sorry, dear 1…..
birds….u need 2 find another site. this 1 is NOT for u.

  • Barbara S

I hope she sue’s everyone involved in this. I feel that her right’s were violated.

  • mare

Yes, keep contacting the sponsors. Crystalblast said it very succinctly but Dee, they aren’t listening.

    • Admin - Deanna

We’ve got to hit them where it hurts, the bottom line! My other half and I have contacted many sponsors and let them know exactly why we are boycotting them and their products. My guy is taking great pleasure in this even tho he’s not an animal advocate, even he knows there’s something wrong here. Many of the people we’ve spoken to are surprised and actually don’t even know the connection. Money is what they care about and is the only thing that is going to make a difference!
      D.

    • Susie

Jess, never thought of that – maybe it is Vick…..but then I doubt he would dare show himself on this site…and oh would we have fun with that if he did!

I thought it was that psycho guy back, maybe from a different computer and using a different name. He was not going to win any fans on this site, just as BIRDS isn’t.
