Man Beat Dog to Death in Front of Restaurant

HicksTake a good look at this picture! This is the face of a man, 44 year-old Gary Hicks of Cleburn, who beat his dog to death with his fists in front of a restaurant as witness looked on Sunday nite!

Why did no one stop him?! My God! What is wrong with people that they would just stand there and watch this pig beat an innocent and defenseless dog to death?!

A 44-year-old Cleburne man repeatedly hit his dog Sunday night in front of several witnesses at a shopping center until the dog died, according to a press release from the Cleburne police department.

Police said people who were at a restaurant in the shopping center witnessed the beating.

The dog, named Chopper, was known by many members of the police department.

Police said she was often seen waiting for her owner, Gary Hicks, when he went into stores or restaurants, or following him as they walked throughout town.

According to witnesses, Hicks beat Chopper with his fists on the sidewalk outside the restaurant — the dog ran away from Hicks who called her back and beat her again.

Hicks called for his dog and then hit her at least five separate times before the dog died, according to police.

Police said they had never received information that the dog was aggressive in any way.

Hicks was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals. He could face up to two years in jail and a fine up to $10,000. (My Fox Dallas-Ft Worth)

When people just stand around watching someone abuse a child, an animal or a fellow human they are as responsible for that brutality as well. Shame on them. Disgusting.

  • chris

It BLOWS MY MIND that there were WITNESSES to this horror and not one single person stood up and stopped him. Honestly, if i were there, i would have slammed him in the head with a 2×4… whatEVER it takes to stop someone like this from beating an innocent animal… WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!

  • Admin

That people could just sit there inside the restaurant and watch what was going on, watch him call that poor dog back again and again, and not one person could make a move to stop the vicious beating he was inflicting on that poor dog, unconscionable!!! And they would have probably sat there watching even if it were a child or another person he was beating.

It’s yet another of the problems with the society we live in, no one wants to get involved! No one wants to take responsibility! And then people wonder why our children are growing up like they are; irresponsible, selfish, money grubbing, self centered brats thinking the world should be handed to them?!?

  • ady

I am appalled! What is wrong with this world??? Beating your animal to death??? And to have witnesses just stand by and do nothing??? Are these people mad? Every one of them should have been out that door and helping that dog. And I know this is not about them, it is about the cruel beating this animal endured from that pig!! But people, when you see something that horrific GET INVOLVED!!! An animals life could have been saved. And I hope that walking heap of crap receives the maximum sentence!!

  • Wendy

Hicks cannot be classified as a human as there appears to be no consciencenous in that body. The maximum sentence should be increased ten-fold followed by an extended stay in a mental institution.

  • Lian

I hope all those witnesses in the restaurant got severe food poisoning and died too.

  • ady

Well, death to the patrons is a bit harsh Lian. I would not wish that upon them. But they should all be hanging their heads in shame for not having the bollocks to step up and help an animal in desperate need. Death to the witnesses Lian, no, many a sleepless night and guilt ridden….Yes.

  • Df

We need to make an example of this person and give him the maximum sentence. It is NOT ok to abuse animals and we need to stop to it. I will be flabergasted if he does not get a harsh punishment, especially since there were so many witnesses.

who watched the beating your as much of a coward as this piece of crap. HELL IS WATING FOR
    U ALL. COWARDILY BITCHES.

  • Nicco Gardadoe

The guys a fight piece of trash. I’m sure that a group of the cowards could have taken him to the
ground. Think of this as a kid getting beaten those people would of just watched that to.

  • Michelle

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…..We the public NEED to get involved when we see SUCH acts of cruelty. Be intolerant of such acts of violence against animals. Unfortunately those standing there doing nothing have this poor animals blood on their hands as well. I hope they throw the book at this poor excuse for a human being.
