Man Pleads No Contest in Golf Club Killing of Dog – VIDEO By Deanna, on January 17th, 2009 |  Carson Smith lost his temper when his little rat terrier was barking and struck out and hit the dog with a golf club. The dog’s injuries were so severe he had to be euthanized. Smith pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge. He was not charged with a felony because he only hit the dog once.
Sentencing is scheduled for March and Carson faces up to a year in jail. Most likely though he will probably just get a ‘slap on the wrist,’ a fine and probation. Guess we’ll find out in March.
Wonder if that works if someone only shoots someone once… or stabs someone once….?

either way….that little dog was murdered…this really sux…sorry wee woofer but i'm sure u're in a better place.
I cannot comprehend how anyone can loose his temper so bad to take a golf club to a little one. This man is very sick, and needs to spend some time in jail thinking about what he has done. This should have been a felony charge. It is murder.
Our country has to take a stand on animal abuse. The slaps on the wrist will do no good when the same person goes out and murders a human being.
