Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Man Tossed Ex-Girlfriend’s Dog Off Balcony

Donald Dornseif Donald Dornseif, 44, of St Paul, MN, didn’t like his ex-girlfriend’s dog because her new boyfriend gave it to her as a gift. So he went to her apartment in the 1300 block of Mississippi Street, and got his revenge.

Dornseif’s ex-girlfriend, Sara Goff, 25, left the apartment for a few minute to go to the store, leaving him watching over their 6 year old daughter, Mya Dornseif-Goff, and several other little girls that she was playing with. Precious, Goff’s 3 yr old English Bulldog, was also at the apartment. Goff could never have guessed what Dornseif would do… and the little girls saw it all.

‘I hate animals’

Police spoke with the tenant below, who said she and a friend overheard Dornseif walk onto the balcony above and say, “I hate animals.” The neighbor said she looked up to Dornseif and told him that he didn’t like dogs because he’s a dog himself.

The neighbor then saw the dog walk near Dornseif on the balcony, who responded, “Do you want to see the dog hit the sidewalk?” A moment later, the neighbor and her friend saw Precious fly over the balcony and hit the ground. (MyFox)

And another account….

Cynthia Hayes — whose 5-year-old daughter was in the apartment with Dornseif — was standing below him when she said she heard him say “I hate animals.”

“I told him, ‘You hate animals because you are an animal,’ ” Hayes yelled up.

“Do you want to see the dog hit the sidewalk?” Dornseif allegedly replied.

Seconds later, “the dog came out flying,” said Debbie Bailey, who had been standing beside Hayes. She didn’t see Dornseif throw Precious, a stout English bulldog. But Hayes said her daughter did; the young girl described to police how Dornseif propelled the dog with both arms.

Two-year-old Elizabeth Mabry — who was being watched by Hayes and Bailey — later described what she saw to her mother, Andrea Mabry, who also lives in the building.

“Doggie went boom,” the girl said, throwing her arms wide.

Dornseif’s ex-girlfriend, Sara Goff, said she got a call from Bailey after the three girls — her daughter, Mya Dornseif-Goff, 6; Hayes’ daughter, Cameryn Hodges, 5, and another 10-year-old girl from the building — ran frantically down to Bailey’s apartment.

“I said, ‘What did you do to my dog?’ He said, ‘I didn’t do nothing to her. She jumped,’ ” Goff said.

Goff, 25, said Dornseif had “popped by,” and she left the apartment to go to the store. She and her daughter had received the dog as a gift from a new boyfriend, and she claimed Dornseif never warmed to it because of that. She and Dornseif had split several years ago, but their daughter lived with her full time. (Twin Cities)

Precious fell approximately 25 feet to the ground below and suffered leg and neck fractures and severe internal injuries so severe he could not be saved.

Dornseif left the scene before police arrived but was arrested about a half hour later when police responded to another domestic disturbance call. He was then arguing with his current girlfriend.

This scumbag, who admits to have been drinking prior to going to his ex- girlfriend’s, of course denies making the statements he was heard making and denies tossing the 60-70 lb dog off the balcony. Dornseif said the dog jumped out of his arms.

He’s been charged with felony animal cruelty and faces up to two years in jail and a $5000 fine. A court date has been set for Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Ramsey County.

Wow, yet another fine example of humankind!

Saturday Morning – Needless to say, the children aren’t doing too well after seeing the horror of Dornseif throwing the dog to its death.

“This morning my daughter still insisted the dog’s in the hospital,” Hayes added. “I had to tell her that the dog’s in heaven now.”

As for young Mya, her mother found her that night curled up and asleep in the corner where Precious usually rests.

“I don’t think Mya actually wants to believe her dad did that,” Bailey said.

I think this sick bastard should also be charged with child abuse too! These poor girls are going to have nightmares about this for a long time.

I think he should be charged with child abuse, as well. Making those little kids see that is just cruel. What a selfish bastard. He needs to be locked up for a long time.
