Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Michael Vick Tests Positive for Marijuana

Uh oh! Looks like a little more trouble for Michael Vick! Not only is he facing two more indictments from the state of Virginia, not only is he being sued for almost 2.5 million dollars on a defaulted loan, and that on top of everything else, now he’s been caught using marijuana. Well, not actually caught using but close enough!

This from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Falcons quarterback Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana, has been confined to his Virginia residence at night, forced to wear an electronic monitoring device and ordered to receive mental health counseling, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

Vick tested positive in a urine sample submitted on Sept. 13, 17 days after entering a plea agreement in federal court on felony charges related to dogfighting. He faces up to five years in prison on those charges and will be sentenced on Dec. 10.

As part of his pretrial release, Vick agreed to “refrain from use or unlawful possession of a narcotic drug or other controlled substance.”

On Monday, probation officer Patricia Locket-Ross petitioned Judge Henry E. Hudson to impose stricter conditions on Vick.

In court documents filed Wednesday, Hudson ordered that Vick submit to any method of testing “for determining whether the defendant is using a prohibited substance.” Such methods may be used with random frequency and include urine testing and the wearing of a sweat patch.

In other conditions ordered by the court, Vick is restricted to his Virginia residence every day from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The home confinement will include electronic monitoring and Vick must pay for the service. The judge also ordered Vick to continue in a substance therapy program and to participate in mental health counseling.

This guy is seriously his own worse enemy!!  What are we going to hear next?
