Jen Koczan & SashaJen Koczan of northwest Indiana never imagined she’d see her beloved Rottweiler, Sasha, again.  Stolen 5 years ago when she was only 3, Jen never forgot Sasha, still thought about her, still held her in her heart but never expected to hold her in her arms again but again we hear the miracle wrought by a microchip!

“I never thought I would see her again,” Koczan said. “I thought about her all the time. I wondered what happened to her. I still have pictures of her. She was a part of our family.”

In an amazing turn of events, Jen got a call from a shelter in Phoenix, AZ a couple of weeks ago telling her that they had her dog and were able to trace Sasha back to Jen because of an implanted microchip.  You can imagine how elated Jen was but the story was far from over… the shelter told her she had only a couple of days to get Sasha or she would be put down!

Just imagine, your furry family member disappears… you’re heartbroken and do everything you can to try to find her, to no avail.  Finally… amazingly… 5 year later she’s found half a country a away and you’re told that unless you can get her almost immediately, you’ll never see her again…

But just as a microchip brought one miracle about, a loving and dedicated group brought another one about.  Kindred Hearts Transportation, a group of volunteers, saw to it that Sasha was reunited with Jan.  Two weeks later with 26 volunteers each driving a short leg of the trip, Sasha was finally reunited with Jan… after five years!

“I don’t know where she’s been or who she’s been with,” she said. “I just hope that whoever had her gave her a good life before she ended up at the shelter in Phoenix.”

In the end Jan said, “It’s nothing short of a miracle, life’s come full circle. Amazing.”

Amazing and wonderful… I just love happy endings! 🙂
