Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

More than a Dozen Dogs Poisoned to Death – VIDEO

dogs-poisonedResidents of an East Prairie, MO neighborhood had a horrific and heartbreaking sight to deal with yesterday morning, 15 dogs, dead by poison and other dogs missing and this isn’t the fist time.  The say that someone tossed bags of poisoned meat where dogs could get to them.

Residents say that someone has been randomly poisoning their dogs for years but never anything like this.  Some lost all of their pets, one young boy lost both his dogs which make a total of six over time.  Another woman lost three of her dogs, her babies, and is hearbroken.

Neighbors are angry, upset and scared.  What if a child got a hold of the poison one man asks??

How unbelievably heartbreaking!  What kind of a sick and twisted person could do something like this?  These poor dogs, people’s babies, their pets, beloved companions, suffered horrible deaths.  Someone has to know something.  The police need to take this seriously.  Whoever is doing this is very dangerous.  My God, I just cannot even wrap my mind around this.

OMG, when I first read this this morning, I sat here and cried like a baby. Oh these poor innocent babies, their lives taken away by some God awful creature. I cannot even call this thing a human. To take the lives of these innocents. I could not bear to watch the video.

I feel so bad for all the owners involved, especially that little boy. What must he think, what is going on in his little body that there is a monster out there killing his beloved puppies. This is just too heartbreaking.

There must be some sort of surveillance that the town can do to stop this monster, and let him get his just do. I am so shocked that someone could even think of something this horrific.

  • thanks for letting us know this info it is so disturbing though to see all those neighbors pets just laying there. I truely wish people would realize you have to protect your pets with a fence, because theres so many hateful people in this world & I dont think it will end.I hope they find the man that done this & he is prosecuted.

  • This is just sick…it just shows you how cruel some humans can be. I hope the police takes this crime very seriously. This has got to stop.

As horrible as this is, I hope all pet owners learn something from this story. Dogs can get into a lot of trouble because they are always curious, so all dogs must be supervised or placed in a secure place when they can’t be supervised directly. It’s just one of our responsibilities as pet owners to keep them safe in exchange for the love they give us.

God Lord! This is beyond sick! Keeping your pets safe and a fence around them won’t help to prevent this type of crulety….believe me! I had a 7 foot fence around my place and it took nothing for some idiot (yes, I’m pretty sure I know who did it) to poison my beautiful JB who died an extremely painful death in my arms. Nothing could be done! My vet (a very good friend) was there within 10 minutes and JB was already gone. It devestated me. My friends were all around that day and I still hear my good friend Sandy saying over and over again…”He’s going to be okay….he’ll be okay”. I will NEVER in my life forget that day…NEVER! They can still throw this crap over fences….believe me! Oh those poor baby’s. I feel so horrible for the pain they endured in their last moments and the pain the family’s are still enduring. God Bless you all.

I have to agree with all of the above. But most importantly please all keep a close eye on your babies. There are just horrific people out there in this world. I hope the law really does their job and finds this sick POS. Poisoning him would be much to kind. He deserves to die a SLOW and PAINFUL death and needs to feel the life being drained out of him. Perhaps they should look at someone that has lost a pet previously and is making everyone pay for it. Would be a start. Maybe this POS thinks someone is responsible for his lose. You never know. I think this sicko should go to that island I mentioned in other postings. Don’t people get it DOG is GOD backwards. My heart goes out to all those that lost their poor little babies.

I looked at the local newspaper stories on this. During the night, the killer left poisoned meat on the roads. So the dogs that were poisoned were dogs whose owners let them run loose at night. While I don’t condone the poisonings, having rescued over 60 dogs and cats personally, the owners sure made it easy for the sicko to kill the dogs. Letting a dog run loose is negligence! Since these poisonings have been “going on for years”, I can only think these owners did not care that much about their dogs–they left them vulnerable to a known killer.
