Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Muddy’s Christmas

12/27/11:  This just in.  Muddy’s adoption fell through.  He is up for adoption via Let’s Adopt Global.  Please contact viktor@myletsadopt.com if you can provide Muddy a home and meet the adoption criteria.

He was old.  He was cold.  He was emaciated.  He looked beat and resigned.  Here was a dog really down on his luck.  And all he had to live in was an old cabinet stuck behind an apartment complex somewhere in Bulgaria.  He was known as The Dog in the Cabinet.

When an email plea regarding his condition showed up in Viktor Larkhill’s email (Let’s Adopt Global) a week ago, the only Holiday preparations that went forward was getting Muddy out of the cabinet and into a warm place for Christmas.  His team assisted rescuers and took Muddy to their clinic for a checkup.  He was dehydrated, malnourished, and had a massive ear infection.  A chipin was started to pay for Muddy’s hospital bills and his plane fare to a new home in Germany.  Once the plea for Muddy hit Facebook, someone offered him a home.

The chipin has been fulfilled and Muddy will be flying to a new home in Germany this December 27th.  But Let’s Adopt Global still wanted a Christmas for Muddy.  So, on Christmas, his kennel in the clinic was decorated, he got pets and hugs, and a lot of good food.

And I’m sure there was a squeaky toy or two tucked into his kennel by the end of the party.

I have no clever words to add.  Read his story, and view his pictures.  The best words to describe Muddy’s Christmas will come directly from your heart.

I am only one, but I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.  ~Edward Everett Hale

This just touches my heart. I am so Happy that Muddy had a nice Christmas and will now have a good loving home. I just love hearing GREAT stories about our little friends (no matter how big). Hat's off to Let's Adopt Global. There are so many furry friends out there all over the world, that would just love to be loved and cared for. The rewards are just humungous, so let's all adopt. I did and I wouldn't have it any other way. My two little ones offer so much love and comfort. So, if you're looking for a GREAT fur baby, ADOPT!!!

Well, this precious boy was found and rescued by very good ppl in Bulgaria and then Let's Adopt! helped with a foster home… So, it's not in Turkey! Anyway, the most importent thing is that sweet baby is safe!

Needy dogs all over the globe are the same: Loving, forgiving and loyal – despite the cruelty from their humans, or neglect suffered at the hands of those who should give them the best of care. TY for this uplifting story. If it could only be the story of the untold number who languish and wait for "US" to come.

God bless all who allow their hearts to lead their minds. Choosing to be compassionate is never the wrong decision. Bless you Muddy. May you find a wonderful new life. You certainly deserve it.

    L.O.V.E. to the whole Earth!

  • Adoption fell through, folks. He is in need of a home. Please see note at top of the post.

I wonder what happened? Poor Muddy. Perhaps they weren't fit to adopt him. At least that is what I would like to think. It surely couldn't be Muddy. You can see in his eyes that he is in dire need of love. I hope good things come his way this coming year. Please keep us posted Andrea. Thanks

I'm sorry that his adoption fell though. He has a very sweet face. I hope that a good family will take him soon.Big hugs to Muddy.
