There is an error in the article “Gas Chamber Explodes w/ Ten Dogs Inside,” and I ask that a correction be made. The article indicates that the chamber was unattended when a spark from an exhaust fan caused an eletrical arc at the top, interior portion of the chamber. An employee of the Animal Shelter was present when the incident occured and notified the front office at which time 911 was contacted while the building was evacuated. The office and the euthanasia area are separated by several rooms with block walls so it is not unusal that no one in the office heard the electrical arc which is actually more like a loud popping sound. Thanks for your consideration in making this correction.

I live in California, where the use of the gas chamber as method of execution was banned for being cruel and unusual punishment. It was used against adult humans who had been convicted of the most heinous acts of murder. The dogs and cats being killed in these gas chambers are innocent of the kind of malice aforethought that it takes for humans to commit murder. Should they not receive even the same consideration given to human criminals?

i hope their gas chamber is NEVER ready.

I lost for words on this one it just brings tears to my eyes just to think how humans can be so ahteful to even use this yes hateful …. a hate to care for some living thing that only needs love and food , but what can one expect they do the same to a child as well if they could and some find ways to do …. but this is just sick to me

I could only watch the frist few seconds of this. As soon as I heard dogs crying I had to turn it off. It’s shocking to me that people can even pick up a sweet dog and place them in that horrible box. How do they live with themselves??!! I hope all these chambers are banned, animals deserve better than that.
