No Charges Against Dog Killer, Retired Cop/Ex-Mayor, Mike Day
Well, looks like it’s ok in Seven Mile, OH to shoot little dogs just because they run out in the road where you are riding a bike and you’re afraid of dogs. At least for retired cops and ex-mayors.
Butler County Sheriff’s Office investigators announced that no charges would be filed against Mike Day who shot and killed a little 10lb, 13-yr-old terrier mix dog on November 3.
“We are not going to be filing any criminal charges,” Capt. Katie McMahon said. “It is a bad situation. We feel terrible for the loss of the dog, but after investigating all avenues and gathering evidence, no charges will be filed.”
Day said when he and his wife were out riding bikes that the little dog, Precious, ran out and caused him to fall from his bike then when they were trying to ride away she tried to attack him. That’s a little different from the original story but what can you do.
Seven Mile police Chief Billy Back characterized Day as someone who served as a dedicated officer for 26 years.
Ah, well, you know what they say…. it’s only a dog.
You can read the original story here, I’m too disgusted to even rehash it!
I’m just going to stop here with this one because continuing would only inflame me more on this. Feel free, as usual, to chime in with your thoughts and opinions… please.
