Jimmy Correa, 24, and Jenny Torres, 31, of New Bedford, MA, who it turns out are cousins, are now claiming that they never tossed Princess, a little chihuahua, from their vehicle and that it was all a big misunderstanding. And, they want the dog back!
Earlier this week witnesses reported seeing a vehicle driving through a West End neighborhood and saw Correa toss Princess out of the window of the still moving vehicle. They then returned about an house later and remarked that the “stupid dog” was still where they threw it.
Witnesses got the tag number when they returned and Correa and Torres were arrested and charged two felony counts of cruelty to animals. Correa at the time claimed that the dog belonged to Torres and he was just doing what she told him to do, to toss the dog.
Now the entire story is changed and they are saying it was all a big misunderstanding and they want Princess back.
Correa said he was by himself, had the dog with him, and that he borrowed Torres’ car to meet someone. He opened the door and the dog ran out.
Neighbors said they overheard the two people call the dog “stupid,“ but Correa said that Torres was calling him stupid because he let the dog get away.
Police said Torres signed the dog over to be adopted when she was arrested on Monday.
However, Correa said Torres misunderstood what she was signing and wants the dog back. The dog, Correa said belongs, to Torres’ 3-year-old daughter.
“She’s been crying ever since. We want the dog back, but they’re not going to give it back,“ he said.
Well Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River had been inundated with applications to adopt Princess and they plan to pick a new family for her in about two weeks. There’s no way that Princess will be going back to those lying pieces of trash, that’s for sure!
I doubt that anyone is buying the “new” version of events that Correa is spewing, especially with witnesses reports of the events. Now let’s just hope they aren’t able to talk their way out of the charges and get what’s coming to them!

I despise people who change their stories. Now they are concerned with their little girl? These two dimwits should have that child taken away from them also. Is she next to be thrown out of a moving vehicle? The actions of these two scumbags prove that some people should not own animals nor have children. I hope to hell they get sentenced heavily.
Little Princess looks mighty happy, with her little outfit on! I am sure that she will be placed in a home that will give her the love she so deserves. Little sweetie!

personally its none of ur business 2 be concerned about the child! its a dog they r talking about not a child so stick 2 the story! U werent there n ur not God so ur opinion is not important! I pray that they never see Princess again. She deserves a loving home. They were caught throwing her from the car, so how did that someone not see the door open and why would you open the door while driving? Do these scum bags think people are really that stupid. If they get Princess back then we should investigate the judicial system that would allow it.

You know, I was reading the news reports about all the calls and emails and adoption requests for Princess. Princess will get a good home – but lets hope that the other potential adopters will recognized another dog in need and take them home. They had 100 calls and emails. Wouldn’t it be nice if all 99 of them took home another dog?
Andrea, that would be the greatest thing to happen! Just think of all the homeless fur babies that would finally have somewhere to call home! If this does happen where 99 more find homes, us transporters are going to be very busy getting more homeless pups to their facility!

Tanya, we are not stupid, as you say. This blog is titled “For the love of the Dog” – what the hell do you think we are going to do; defend these two dimwits? And honestly, you must not read many reports about people who abuse animals, as it is a prelude to abusing or murdering a human.
How can we not be sickened by all the reports and the people who had seen these two throw Princess out of the window? Don’t tell us we are sticking our noses where it does not belong. What they did to this little girl is unexcusable. The reasoning as to why they went back to get Princess, was for guilt, and their little girl. I know personally, and along with many others here, would never allow these two to have any type of animal ever again. And yes, DCFS should have a watchful eye over these two as far as parenting goes. Parents are supposed to lead by example. By doing such an awful act of cruelty to Princess, is that leading by example?

They changed their story not out of guilt for a child, only to save their dumb backsides. Unless Torres has an IQ of 2, she fully understood what she was doing when she signed over Princess to the authorities.

Tanya, how can they be innocent with so many witnesses? Get real – they may be your friends, but personally, I would find new friends. These two are certainly people I would not want to be around or have my furbabies around.

These kids are our future. And for that I am glad that I won’t be around to much longer. We just lost our female chihuahua mix a couple of months ago. We have heard that the rotten brats in this neighborhood. We heard she was hung like a pinata and clubbed to death. We will never get over it.
They took her right out of our yard.
