Just a quick note to let you know that tomorrow, 9/25, Oprah will be airing and update to her puppy mill segment. first there’s a segment on the tiniest dogs, should be cute but then they get to the tough stuff and it should be as enlightening, if not more so, than the first show. Be sure to tune in and watch!

    I’m glad that Oprah has FINALLY done something about the puppy mills, but it took an animal rights activist spending $10k on a billboard outside her studio to do it! I hope she no longer goes to backyard breeders like she did with the three Golden Retriever puppies she BOUGHT in 2005. I’m glad she’s doing this, but I don’t trust her anymore.

    i didn’t see the original show, wish i had. i watched this update today. i’m of mixed emotions on the show. oh i’m glad she can still creat the attention that she does, and get the response that she still does. i just didn’t sense the intensity that usualy goes with her specialty shows. she looked so uncomfortable holding that little chihuahua when we’ve all seen other talk show hosts just reach out and do snuggles with little critters. i was also anticipating her remarks on the pa. puppy mills, after the break, and was disappointed. i ws sure she would slam them and all puppy mills and say something like “we’re gonna get you and put you out of business”, like she would have in years past.
    don’t get me wrong, i’m glad pet store sales are down and that millers are turning in their dogs because they have no outlet for them since her show aired and educated so many thousands of people. i just got the impression that she was more interested in the fireplace trim and would rather have been talking about that. i guess i was just disappointed, i thought it would be a more forcefull, intense show.

    I wasn’t impressed by her lack of feeling, either, but I’ve always thought she was pretty fake anyway.

    @bernice, @Vicki T – I didn’t get a chance to see the show this time but did see the first one and thought it was quite well done. Actually I think that was the first and only time I have ever watched Oprah but then again I don’t really even watch TV. Disappointed to hear that it wasn’t very good. I know many people were really looking forward to it. I guess any exposure to increase awareness is a positive thing though, have to look at it that way.
    Thanks for the update on it Bernice and Vicki!

    @Admin -

    I mean, it was great that Oprah did the show, at all. It’s just that she didn’t really act like she was into it. I have to admit that I never watch Oprah, so maybe this is her normal M.O. I AM glad she at least DID the show because it certainly was better than doing nothing at all! ;-)
