A female pitbull mix was the victim of horrific torture. The young dog found by an animal rescuer, Dawn Moland, was tied to a tree at Skookumchuck and Johnson Creek Road in Thurston County. Moland videotaped the scene and called the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
The dog, found along a rural roadside had been choked with a bike chain, stabbed or shot, pummeled with rocks, sexually assaulted with a beer bottle and had rocks tied to it legs. It also appears she had recently given birth to a litter of puppies. The dog was described as a blond, female dog with medium-length hair, weighed about 30-35 pounds and appeared to be 1-2 years old.
Chief Deputy Steve Acree who said it’s the worst case of animal abuse they’ve ever seen added, “It’s a problem we haven’t faced, but if someone is going around killing animals, it has to be stopped.”
Authorities are also trying to determine if this is connected to the discovery Monday in Logan County of the 14 dead dogs.
Dawn Moland is hoping someone knows something and makes a call to the sheriff’s office. Moland said, “We need to catch who did it. We want someone to rat them out and of course, money always talks.”
Authorities believe the dog was tortured somewhere else and dumped near the intersection of Randolph County Roads 300-S and 200-E. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department is investigating, but Major Todd Dunn said there are no suspects. Dunn said anyone responsible for the dog’s injuries or death could be charged with cruelty
The U.S. Humane Society is offering a reward of $2,500 to anyone who helps authorities find the person responsible. In a press release announcing the reward from the Humane Society, Indiana’s director Anne Sterling said, “Anyone capable of torturing an animal can be dangerous to people. Americans have no tolerance for violence against the creatures who share our world.”

I’m just heartsick. The kind of depravity it would take for someone to do something like this, to get a sick thrill out of brutally torturing an innocent animal, is unbelievable. Killing an animal, abusing an animal it horrible, but to take the time to torture, to inflict such pain and suffering on a defenseless creature, what is this person capable of? God help any human beings in this person’s life!

This is so horrible,I’m trying to hold back tears as I type this.How can anybody be so evil? I love animals so much,I can’t imagine this happining.God,what a terrible story! I hope they catch this horrible person before more innocent animals have to die. I just can’t beleive this.
OMG this is the most horrible thing. I can hardly see thru my tears as I type this. All I can picture is my precious female pit, Peaches (my gravatar picture) and surely don’t understand how anyone could do this to such a loving loyal breed. And how scared she must have been, all alone with a monster. How can things like this keep happening?? Not only do they keep happening they seem to be getting worse and worse as they go. I hope they find the sick POS thst did this, but I’m not holding my breath. I’m afraid that since this horrible thing happened to a Pit Bull they won’t try too hard to get her some justice. I pray I’m wrong but unfortunately the odds are stacked against her.
RIP you precious Angel. No one can hurt you now! You will finally have the opportunity to feel love, soak it in my baby. My heart is broken for what happened to you and even though we never met I hope you can feel the love I have for you. God Bless you little one; you certainly didn’t deserve the hand you were dealt.
I am with all of you with your thoughts on this monster who did this to this beautiful baby. RIP baby, you did not deserve this type of horrible treatment in your short life. May God watch over and take care of you for eternity. You deserved a better life.
I don’t care what breed of dog it was, they have to investigate and find these monster(s) who did such an atrocious thing to any animal; and be punished to the fullest extent. Wish we could petition our judicial system and let them all know that these crimes committed against animals need harsher punishments than just a slap on the wrist. It is so unfair to all the living creatures that have suffered from monsters like these who don’t care if they cut the life of a fur baby short. All fur babies deserve to have wonderful human parents who love, respect and honor them. Anyone who does otherwise to an animal is lower than whale sh** in my book.

OMG How unbelievably horrible. How can the human race be so cruel? I’d love to be part of the group that finds them. I’d be all over them like flys on s***! Poor little girl. I can’t stop the tears flowing with sorrow over what her poor mind was trying to figure out. What in God’s name had she done to deserve such a tortureous death. She had a really rough crossing to the Bridge, but she is safe and happy now. I only hope she leads attorities to her abusers. Poor baby.
AsI said in my first comment,I just can’t wrap my brain around this.I still hope they find the scum who did this and lock them away forever!!! this poor baby did not have to suffer and die the way she did.I would have loved to take this angel into my house and love her and comfort her and protect her,but,God will do that now,and one day He will take final vengence on those who did this to her.
