Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Hulk

UPDATE 4/8/09 - Puppy Killer Arrested

In November, a Green Bay woman, Alex Rouse, arried home to a horrific discovery.  Her home had been broken into and her 5 month-old Pekingese/poodle puppy named Hulk had been stuffed in the oven.  Needless to say, Rouse was heartbroken.  “That dog meant everything to me,” Rouse said. “That dog went everywhere with me.”

In February they believed they had identified the sick bastard who committed this heartless crime;

Green Bay police have collected DNA samples from an unnamed 31-year-old man who they believe was the heartless monster who did it. The man is the ex-boyfriend of Alex Rouse.

He was angry at her because of a recent break-up and wanted to get back at her. He also told friends that he hated the puppy because he was allergic to it.

In an interview at the end of January he told police that he was at Rouse’s home about an hour before she returned home to find the dog. He also told at least two friends, who verified the story, about going to the house and and putting the dog in the oven.

And now Alex Rouse’s ex-boyfriend, Terry Kleiman, has been identified and charged with the crime. Police are on the look out for him now so that he can be arrested.

According to the criminal complaint just filed against Kleiman, he’s threatened his ex-girlfriend, Alex, in the past. “If you ever hurt me, I will hurt you tenfold,” it states in the complaint. Kleiman further warned her, “If she ever did anything to him, he would kill her.” Alex was afraid for her life.

So, what was the motive for this heinous crime? According to the complaint, Kleiman said the he was allergic to the dog and the dog had put him through hell. He allegedly joked about killing the puppy and putting it in the oven. (NBC26)

If he’s found guilty, Kleiman faces a maximum of 16 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.

Now wouldn’t it be nice to see someone who could do something so heinous to actually be sentenced to that?  I’m quite sure it will not happen but I can dream.  He certainly deserves it!

    If found guilty he should be put in an oven and roasted to death. This bastard is a sicko and needs to be removed from society. This country needs to take some action. People are just getting away with too much anymore. What has happened to our laws?

    I agree this COUNTRY NEEDS AN AWAKNENING ~there has been more and more HORRIFIC animal cruelty cases and they DO NOT STOP because of the DAMN LAWS~someone with the authority to change these laws needs to step up to the F”en plate and get soem HARSHER sentences, I myself and sick and tired of hearing of the animals suffering in our country, we oay texes and I WANT A LAW TO PROTECT MY AND ALL ANIMALS DAMN IT ANYWAYS!

    I believe that someone who commits a crime.. .deserves to face a punishment for their actions. If it is proved. I feel like a lot of people think of animals like a lesser being just because humans are more intelligent or whatever.. but dogs and cats and monkeys and horses are living creatures as well.. and they should be treated fairly.

    When will Terry Kleiman go to court? The last I heard the state needed more time. I really need to know the end of this horrible act.

    Oh goodness. I can’t imagine the heartbreak and horror this poor woman felt at finding her own beloved baby in the oven. She has to live with that image and heartache for the rest of her life, all the while knowing that poor little dog suffered until it was lucky enough to finally die…I don’t understand how some people can be so cruel. I hope I never understand it!
