Susie is so right Suzi. HSUS and ASPCA are only about helping themselves to your money and claiming the fame and glory. Internet sales are only a small part of the problem, what should be addressed is to ban pet store, pet shops, and the like, physical as well as virtual, sales of any companion animal (pet) and to enact spay/neuter laws that make fines/fees so high for not doing so that truly only extremely responsible breeders, who really are in for the love of the animal, not the profit, would be willing to pay the “fines/fees” in order to breed. Companion animals should not be merchandise to be bought and sold at will. Francis Battista of BF once wrote, whenever you see any pet store animal for sale, you can bet there is miller behind it.

As for Kathy Bauck and her so called business (inner ring of Hell), it is anothe case of INJUSTICE from the legal system and the courts. Another issue that all of us who love and treasure any companion animal need to address and work toward stronger laws with mandatory sentencing.

The HSUS is of no help to anyone, mostly the animals Suzi. Rescue frowns upon any listing regarding an animal be on Craig’s list.

Letters to our congressmen and senators, individually and as a rescue group affiliation will help. It will take years to shut internet sales of animals down.

We animal lovers/rescuers/fosters need to get the HSUS & the ASPCA & all nationwide animals groups to come together with a plan to make internet sales of animals illegal. Will that stop puppy mills? Probably not, but surely it could make a dent in that horrific problem.

I bought an old English American bulldog from puppiesonwheels.com last august of 2008, besides him being FILTHY when we went to pick him up, it took an extra 3 weeks to get him. On the night we brought him home was already midnight and we did not feed him dinner, the next morning when i feed him an 11 week old puppy he GROWLED at me and snapped at me..I just figured its probably because he hadn’t eaten the night before…well this continued all of the next 6 months!!! we even hand feed him every meal for him to get used to us being around when he eats. We adopted another puppy from a shelter at 10 weeks old and was the sweetest thing and could only eat if I was in the same room as him… Rambo the dog I bought from Puppiesonwheels.com is now over a year old and has to eat separately from our other dog Tucker and doesn’t get along well with other dogs at all we have worked and worked with him and cannot bring him to trainers at the pet stores because of his dog aggression. I really really hope Karma comes and Bites this lady in the A$$. I am extremely upset that she was not punished more. I really hope that all of the dogs are taken away from her and her family and her family her husband and daughter are in it too I dont see why handing it over to them would of changed anything charge them all with animal cruelty and neglect.

What can I do to help stop this? I watched on youtube a news channel 5 report on Kathy Bauck and Laughlin Kennels in Oxford, MA. I want to help…where can we go from here. I own a pug, and frankly, pets are not just animals, they are family members. Why is this operation allowed? How do we stop it?

as a dog lover and pet owner who gives herself a hard time for forgetting one dose of medicine (after the pet has started getting over the infection), i cannot believe this piece of trash can live with itself. i agree with dinora. it would indeed be poetic justice if she and her husband and daughter (who seem to part of her operation) caught a fatal infection from one of her dogs. hope her pain and death are slower and more painful than her tortured dogs’ lives.

This is ridiculous, if people get away with it, more will earn a living torturing dogs. We have to write to our Senators and House of Representative legislators about this. Small animal protection groups don’t have the money to do this alone.

Doggy Mom, there are a tremendous amount of bills headed to the Senate to be passed about puppy mills. There is a lady I correspond with in rescue who is very faithful about getting the information out to rescue groups regarding the new laws pending. Yes, I believe the new laws are going to make the good and honest breeders to have many more restraints on them, but will hopefully help shut down all the puppy mills. If you go to the ASPCA website, and look up puppy mills, they have many interesting articles on it, and check into your particular state’s website to see if there are any upcoming laws to come into effect. Writing, calling all your congressmen and senators, but please be sure to have good documentation and any articles, pictures, etc of puppy mills and the outcome of their puppies they sell.
