Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Thorp, WI Dog Auction Protest – September 24 – ACTION ALERT

On Wednesday, September 24, Horst Stables will be having another of its infamous dog auctions and the WI Puppy Mill Project along with Clark County Humane Society are organizing another protest. Anyone who can be there is encouraged to please show up and lend your voice.

Below is the information from Eileen Ribbens from the Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project;

We are deeply saddened that there will be ANOTHER Dog Auction in Thorp, Wisconsin (Clark County) on WEDNESDAY September 24, 2008 at Horst Stables.

We will be there (again!) to PROTEST these despicable auctions! We will NOT stop our protests until the auctions stop. Puppy mills breed misery and the auction dogs are puppy mill dogs! PLEASE, if you can, take the day off work, make the drive, join us for the protest!

Additional information on the specifics of the event will be posted by our friends at Clark County Humane Society. Please log onto their web site http://www.cchs-petshelter.org/ (scroll down to the Auction section of the Home Page). The latest on the organization for the protest will be posted there. Generally, plan to meet between 10:00 and 10:30 am in Thorp (location to be announced). The auction usually starts at Noon.

PLEASE BE THERE…WE need you and the DOGS REALLY need you!

Please help to get the word out, if you live in Wisconsin or close, if you know anyone in Wisconsin. Everyone is needed!!

If you want to know more about the Thorp auctions, check out the Clark County Humane Society, they have been involved and been to many of these auction. There are pictures and insider accounts of these horrors. It’s sadly, very enlightening.
