Two Cases, Two Puppy Beaters, One Puppy Dead

What is it with these tough guys beating tiny defenseless little puppies?? Someone needs to give them both a serious taste of their own medicine and let them know how it feels! One of the tiny victims did not survive the brutal beating!

Gerald T. Barrett

UPDATE – 12/19/08 - Judge Hands Down 2 Year Sentence for Puppy Beater

First we have big tough 20 yr-old Gerald T. Barrett of Lake Carmel, NY. Angry at his girlfriend last Thursday nite, he beat her 4 month old, 22 lb puppy, Cali brutally. He punched the dog at least six times and slammed it into the pavement five more times, breaking her jaw, fracturing several of her teeth, breaking blood vessels in her eyes and causing substantial swelling to her face.

Then he turned on his 18 year old girlfriend, biting her in the face.

On Friday, no clue why she waited a full day before getting medical help for the puppy, she took the dog the the vet where she was kept overnight. When Cali was picked up Saturday, her jaw was bandaged shut, one paw bandaged and she has a protective cone over her head to protect her jaw. One side of her jaw is fractured.

Then Saturday afternoon, the girlfriend showed up at the Kent police department and complained that Barrett had assaulted her again and threated to kill her dog. She was crying hysterically and had red marks on her neck. Barrett had choked her before picking her up and throwing her on the pavement.

Police arrested Barrett at his home at 11 Laguna Road and he’s been charged with animal cruelty, a felony; and three counts of third-degree assault and one count of resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.

Luckily in this case, the puppy will be ok but will be eating soft foods for a while. In the next case, the puppy was not so lucky.

Lawrence Pterson This tough guy is 58 year old Lawrence Peterson of Decatur, Dekalb County, Georgia. He’s been charged with one count of felony animal cruelty after he beat his roommate’s 6-8 week old (or months old, depending on the story) pitbull puppy with a broken table leg when the puppy was barking.

On Saturday, the police were called by the puppy’s owners, Peterson’s roommate and the puppy was found unresponsive in the backyard of a home on Camby Lane and rushed to the vet. Unfortunately it had suffered such severe head trauma that it had to be euthanized.

As of yesterday, Peterson was being held at the Dekalb County Jail.

20-yr-old Gerald T. Barrett of Lake Carmel, NY is an abuser in the worst way. Get the word out bloggers…keep his name, picture, and crimes out there. Some employer will google his name and come up with this. I said it before and I’ll say it again – the Internet is the Karma of the 21st Century.

First of all, there’s something wrong with this entire story…aside from the fact that this NY guy needs to have the crap literally beat out of him … his g/f waited an entire day to take the puppy to the vet? She then went to the police on the next day to report he attacked her AGAIN? do you see my point here? Means she took him back??? To my eyes, she shouldn’t even have this puppy. It’s not a safe place for it…she’s going to take that person back into her home and it’ll happen again unless somebody gets to him. As you can see, I’m not relying on the law here. I’m hoping justice is done a different way. As for the other guy in Georgia…please, if there’s a God up above, let him get his in jail. Let them both get what’s coming to them. Just look at their faces…they are human trash. Yes, I’m not mincing words here…I’m so sick of this happening to these innocent creatures…there’s no reason that these people can’t be punished according to the crime !!!

  • IN THE 1 CASE WHO IN THE HELL LET THIS GIRL HAVE THIS PUPPY BACK? WHOM EVER DID IS A COMPLETE & TOTAL MORON WITH SHIT FOR BRAINS. I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE NO BODY IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS IS GONNA LET THIS POOR PUPPY BACK INTO THAT KIND OF SITUATION. SOMEONE NEEDS THEIR HEAD EXAMINED!!!! BUT IN BOTH CASES PLEASE PLEASE GOD PUT BOTH OF THESE SOB’S IN A JAIL WHERE THERE ARE ALL ANIMAL LOVERS & LET JUSTICE BE SERVED

  • @AIR -

Hi Group please be sure to say hi to the asshole ……

HAH! Gerald Barrett is now charged with contempt of court because he phoned his *girlfriend* from jail. She had a protection order. His bail has been raised to $20,000.

You know, his bail was initially $5,000. Now, you only need to post, what, 10, 20 percent? That’s not a lot of money. His family didn’t bail him out. So, whats that tell you. Nobody wants him out??? Hmmmm???

@AIR – Can’t say I’m really surprised, Andrea. He struck me as a real winner from the start. Guess his family already figured that out. Hope he stays there for a long time, he’s right where he belongs!
