Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Update on Molly, Dog Buried Alive

Molly, bashed on head with hammer then buried alive 75-Year-old Hyrum Long and daughter, 49-year-old Susan Johnson of Forest Grove, OR, the pair that bashed their dog, Molly, on the head and buried her alive in their yard, have been arrested and charged. Long was charged with aggravated animal abuse Johnson was charged with first-degree animal neglect.

A necropsy report from the Oregon Humane Society said the dog had a chronic skin disease, body sores and starvation, actually it said “long term lack of nutrition and chronic starvation.” It found indications the dog had not eaten for at least four days.

These are the people who went out to eat after they bashed the poor dog’s head in.

I have heard a myriad of excuses surrounding this, no money to have the dog euthanized, no gun to shoot the dog, didn’t want to take it to a vet for fear of being charged with animal cruelty because they thought it had cancer. They starved the poor damn dog then they went out to eat and fill their own bellies while Molly lay suffering in a hole in their back yard.

A police officer commented that he could hear her cries from a block away. Hyrum Long said he thought he “killed her pretty good.”

A humane society spokesperson said that there are animal hospitals and vets that would have euthanized Molly at no charge if they could not have afforded to do it but they didn’t even bother to check. They were too worried about getting in trouble and rightly so!

The more I read about this, the more sick and angry I get at these people!

CAN THEY THINK THEIR DOG WAS DEAD WHEN A POLICE OFFICE HEARD THE DOG CRYING A BLOCK AWAY. THIS JUST MAKES ME SO SICK I CAN JUST HEAR THAT POOR DOG CRYING OUT FOR HELP IN MY HEAD. BUT AT LEAST NOW SHE IS FAR AWAY FROM THESE MONSTERS. R.I.P. SWEET MOLLY.

  • Let’s just see what the judge does with this. I hope they realise how many people are watching and waiting around the world for an appropriate sentence for this POS.

WE NEED A JUSTICE FOR MOLLY PETITION AND FAST…..

  • Cristine

I can’t believe people abuse helpless animals! There is a special place in Hell for them.

  • Dee

I will definitely sign a petition. I am horrified about what those 2 did to poor Molly. I wonder what the family member says now. But I think they care less about a sweet dog like Molly. What poor excuses for humans they are. Poor Molly I wish she would of had a better home, where she would have had a whole lot of love and loving care. I hope they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I’m sending her my love in my prayers.
