Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

    US EMBASY BaghdadPressOfficestate.gov

EVERYONE GET THOSE EMAILS OUT ASAP!!!

  • Marcy Becker

yES! You try to get in touch with her!! BTW have you?

  • Please, everyone do what you can to get media attention on this so hopefully action can immediately be taken to save this dog and let the public know what the military has done to this soldier and her dog! It is wrong and makes me sick. I will not stop writing anyone I can to solve this by getting the dog free to come home to the U.S.

  • Admin

See the latest update posted above – Ratchet was missing as of Friday and there is no word beyond that…. :(

  • Marcy Becker

JUST RECEIVED MAIL FROM ARMY ABOUT SGT. GWEN BEBERG.

THEY SAY SHE IS BACK IN THE USA…HOWEVER, THEY DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT RATCHET EXCEPT THAT THE ARMY HAS COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS AND WOULDN’T HURT THEM IN ANY WAY!!!

HERE IS THE EMAIL ADDY TO WRITE TO ARMY;;;;;AND KEEP WRITING!!!

    george.heath1@us.army.mil

    cathy.gramling@us.army.mil

  • JANET MITCHELL

I JUST WROTE TO KATIE COURIC. PLEASE EVERYONE DO THE SAME SO WE CAN FIND RATCHET & GET HIM HOME.

  • AIR

Well, this just in from the Chicago Tribune:

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-ap-wi-iraqipuppy,0,2464014.story

Apparently, Gwen just found out that Ratchet was still alive but stuffed in a meat freezer. Someone got him out of the freezer.

At least the Chicago Tribune caught on. Now all we need is the Washington Post and NY Times. I DID email them.

  • Admin

@AIR – Thanks Andrea, hadn’t had a chance to get back and look for follow-up, you saved me the time… again :)
Hey, if you ever want a job, let me know… the pay sucks, there is none… the hours are long and the only real benefit is hoping that you are making a difference… LOL But it’s a great one! :D The satisfaction is immeasurable!

  • roseanna

THANKS MARCY FOR THOSE EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR THE ARMY…
I JUST EMAILED THEM BOTH AND LET THEM KNOW THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE WAITING TO HEAR GOOD NEWS….WE SUPPORT OUR MILITARY BUT WE DO NOT SUPPORT OUT AND OUT CRUELTY TO ANIMALS OR ARMY PERSONNEL.
I AM ON PINS AND NEEDLES…CHECKING EMAILS ALL NIGHT LONG…..NOW IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY WERE TRYING TO KILL THE DOG….MAYBE MAKE IT LOOK LIKE AN ACCIDENT THAT HE GOT IN THE FREEZER…..MAYBE THEY REALIZE THAT A DOG FOUND EXECUTED WOULD BE REALLY BAD NEWS FOR THE ARMY….WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR GOOD MEN….I KNOW WAR IS HELL BUT THIS IS NOT RIGHT! NO WONDER THEY COME HOME CRAZED AND WITH POST TRAUMATIC ISSUES….IT IS THE UNNECESSARY VIOLENCE THAT RUINS THEM…SO SAD.

  • Marcy Becker

    HI Roseanna!

Ratchet will be going home Sunday! I am writing this in a POSITIVE way so- much- so that I’m f’n tird of the NEGATIVE!

This little boy has an ANGEL, and that angel will make sure he will be safe.

Northwest Airlines will pick him up from Kuwait and fly this furry baby home to his grandma.

    I will keep you posted.

  • Marcy Becker

    HI!

Some people in here wrote to Caesar Milan. LOL! The only thing he can do is to train dogs. I doubt very much if he’ll get involved with the ARMY.

    NICE TRY THOUGH.

  • AIR

@Marcy Becker – I’d like to see some of these celebrities get more involved in rescue issues. Oh, being spokespersons for PETA and the HSUS and having your own brand of pet food is great, but, it doesn’t seem to motivate interest from the public.

If they just get their *hands dirty* like the rest of the grassroots dedicated rescuers these problems would have a better chance of being resolved.

  • Admin

If anyone is interested I’ve posted the latest update to the original story….

Ratchet is on his way home!!!

  • AIR

YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!! Twice today I have HAPPY THOUGHTS!!! YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!

  • Marcy Becker

O LORD I CAN FINALLY GET SOME SLEEP! I COULDN’T SLEEP
UNTIL I KNEW THAT THIS LITTLE FUR BALL IS OK!

I WONDER WHO WAS TAKING CARE OF HIM UNTIL TERRY CRISP (SPCA) CAME TO GET HIM IN KUWAIT.

PEOPLE! THIS IS ONE SERIOUS ORGANIZATION! SPCA!!!!

GO SPCA!!! GO SPCA!! GO SPCA!!! YEAH!!!!

GOD BLESS EVERYONE! RATCHET WILL INDEED HAVE A

    CHRISTMAS!!

DONATE TO THE SPCA! I AM!
