Update to Post “Three Teens Accused of Burning Dog Alive”

I just posted this horrendous story earlier today – Three Teens Accused of Burning Dog Alive – GA Animal Rescuers Say One of the Worst Cases of Animal Cruelty Ever Seen. And now I find a follow-up to that story, looks like this is not the first time for these teens doing something like this!

From Macon.com

UPDATE: Teens accused of burning dog to death may have done same to puppy last week

Allegations have surfaced that the three teenagers arrested Tuesday for burning a dog to death may have burned another dog on May 9, according to a Macon Police Department arrest report.

Porsha Drewery, of Rutherford Avenue, told police after Tuesday’s incident that she believed the boys burned and killed her 14-year-old daughter’s Chow puppy also.

Drewery said the boys admitted to her that they’d burned the dog after she found it burned and barely alive the following morning.

Police spokeswoman Melanie Hofmann said the May 9 incident was not reported to police, but officers are investigating the possibility that the boys, ages 13 and 14, may have harmed other animals.

The boys were charged with aggravated cruelty to animals Tuesday evening after a woman discovered a mixed breed dog burning in the corner of her yard on Cliffview Drive at about 4 p.m.

Police say the dog was still alive when firefighters extinguished the flames, but the dog died within minutes.

The boys were released into their parents’ custody Tuesday night, according to the arrest report.

They are scheduled to appear in court on May 25.
