I did not listen to the video, but watched quickly and looks to me like the Humane Societies are trying to talk gov’t into closing rescues so they can collect and control any cash that comes in for care of animals. It is about protecting their jobs in many cases. Some societies are honest, many are corrupt. We better get active.

You got that right IK, my thoughts exactly. There is a skunk in this wood pile with the initials HS and NS. What a scam, that organizationm is pulling over the eyes of the humanitarian people, all over. They have and know no shame.

Why, because the Humane ( if anyone still wants to refer to it as that) Society is feeling the pinch after all the bad publicity and their best plan of action is to knock out any and all competition. That way they can get the media coverage of them going in and rescuing all those poor uncared for animals. And then maybe they can regain all or most all of the suporters they have lost over this Vic circus and regain those donations that pay those ungodly pay checks and perks ( May God have mercy on their souls if they have one, that is?)

I hope you realize this might be one of those cases where the HS wants the local shelter to be closed so the HS gets money. Often, HS will be given money on a per dog basis. If you watch the cash flow, you’ll see the vets get money as well due to contracting with local vets on a regular basis.

In regards to good local shelters, they often know how to take care of various “commonsense”(to me) issues like skin infections, mange, and other issues which are not severe.

If I were the shelter, I’d launch a complaint with the state ethics committee to have both the HS and the head vet investigated.

They’re going after PUPPY MILLS cause it’s money in the POS pockets. You know the deal a little under the table and you can have your puppy mill.

At the end of the day from what I can see is this women is simply trying to offer dogs a better standard of life rather than be killed, I would have thought it would have been a better decision to help rather than to kill!
None of the dogs look underweight, they are clean and seem to be very happy, it is such a digusting thought that instead of the help she may need they would rather kill the dogs, but tell me would they do this to someone that fosters children the answer is simple… NO!

I have dealt with this rescue in the past and never saw any problems. I think it is rather alarming that the state seems to over regulate legitimate rescues but the puppy millers operate with little to no oversight! So some dogs are tethered, no it’s not ideal but it’s also not illegal or necessarily a sign of neglect. If the dogs are all vetted and well fed and cared for then i think they need to back off or perhaps put a limit on the # of dogs the rescue is allowed to house…not shut it down!

I am so sick of these local yahoos going after the small private rescues, rather than going after the puppy mills. I’m certain there are far more horrors at the puppy mills than “fly bites”. These wonderful rescues who give so much of themselves deserve to be rewarded and not harrassed and shut down. I have to wonder if there is some disgruntled neighbor yapping to the authorities or something. Clearly these dogs are loved and taken care of. She’s doing the very best she can. If those babies end up at a humane society, they face death. So why can’t these people wake up and see the good that she’s doing?
