Woman Who Taped Dog to Fridge May Also Be Facing Drug Charges
This story just keep getting more and more interesting! Abby Toll, the 20-year-old U of CO student that was arrested on felony animal cruelty charges, among others, after taping her boyfriend’s puppy to the refrigerator to get back at him, is now facing more charges after she was found with heroin on her while being booked into jail.
She’s now potentially facing felony charges of introducing a controlled substance, and sale and distribution of a controlled substance after booking officers found a small tin foil packet containing a black substance which tested positive for being heroin. The amount found was too minuscule to measure in grams but heroin is heroin and it is illegal so…
Wow heroin! Now that might explain, but not excuse, her nutcase actions.
Toll posted a $12,500 bond and was released from jail on Wednesday.
And how’s the puppy that was taped to the refrigerator? Rex, a 12-lb Shiba Inu who is actually closer to 2-years-old rather than 8 months, is safe and sound at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, along with Toll’s 7-month-old Chihuahua, Peanut, where they will stay until the case is over with.
Rex is physically doing well, but not in the greatest of moods. He’s skittish and bark-y, not very trusting right now which isn’t terribly surprising with what the little guy has been through.
“He’s not easy to handle right now,” Humane Society CEO Lisa Pedersen said. “It’s really sad. It’s not his fault.”
Hopefully Rex will be able to get over what was done to him and if his owner gets rid of this whackjob, he may be able to go home again. Doesn’t sound like he was too bad, a poor judge of character like anyone who is involved in abusive relationships. Hopefully he’s not involved in drugs as well otherwise both dogs would be better off having a chance to find new homes away from both of them.
