Liz,
I am so sorry to hear that you may be having a problem and if it's true, a very serious one!

This is the info I have on antifreeze poisoning;
TOXIN: Antifreeze

COMMON SIGNS:
"Acting drunk", excessive panting, excessive drinking and urinating, progresses to depression as kidney failure sets in.

ACTION PLAN:
Induce vomiting, give Activated charcoal, to the Vet ASAP - must be treated in first 6-8 hours after ingestion.

As for antifreeze being poured on grass, it will kill it so it should be noticeable that something toxic was in the area.

And if you do suspect that your neighbor is trying to poison your dog, contact the police or animal control and make a report. They may be willing to look into it further and help you as well.

Best of luck, hope your baby is ok.
Deanna

PS. Feel free to hook up with me on Care2, also on Facebook and Twitter :) Thanks!

I am wondering if you might be able to help me with a troubling question. I am concerned that a neighbor has applied a liquid substance down our mutual fence line. I am thinking anti-freeze. I have taken my dog to the /Vet and they cant do a tox test so they did a kidney and liver function test. I plan on getting the soil tested-all of this is very expensive. Can you tell me the symptoms of a toxic substance being poured on grass-it would be diluted by weather and snow--so it is not full strength. Thank you. I love your news articles--I read it every day. I believe that you are on Care2 also--as am I--I would love a friend connection with you if you are interested. Thank you again. I am desperately hoping that you can help me.
