Passionate when it comes to my canine companions as well as dogs everywhere, it's my mission to raise awareness of any issues that affect them, from their health, food and nutrition and training to their welfare. Canine advocacy is something that everyone who cares about dogs needs to be aware of and we all need to share that and raise our voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Dog-fur Everywhere??

Being a dog owner this is something I’ve learned to live with, I don’t like it, but I live with it. :(

Recently a friend of mine adopted a beautiful 2 yr old Border Collie, Spuds…. yeah, I know, kinda a funny name but he was a rescue saved from a kill shelter in GA and to make a long story short, that was the name we christened him with and it kinda stuck.

Spuds Spuds

As you can see, Spuds is a beautiful dog, but also a walking furball!

Anyway, turns out Spuds is a shedder extroidinairre!! That’s when she discovered the FURminator. Now I’d never heard of this before and she’s been raving about it so I figured I’d give it a try. Being Springers, Jezzie and Bruti are rather prolific shedders. By the end of winter Bruti usually looks like a walking ball of fur, leaving remnants in his wake wherever he goes. Yikes So I got one… pretty funny looking little tool….

FURminator

Well, funny looking or not, the thing is amazing!!! They say it can cut shedding down by 90%. Well, never having actually measured the amount of fur amassing around my house, although I do know that I can vacuum every other day during the cool months, when Jezzie and Bruti aren’t clipped, and just about fill up the canister on my vacuum! Buggin

So if you’ve got a pooch who insists on leaving fur trails everywhere, I highly recommend the
